Few releases after 2014 piqued my interest sadly. Aftee 2020 the unwillingness to spend 400€ on a next-gen console made me miss all the new releases, and I was stuck with indie games.

2000 - Pokemon Silver
2001 - Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies
2002 - Ratchet & Clank
2003 - Megaman Battle Network 3: Blue
2004 - Half Life 2
2005 - Gran Turismo 4 / Need for Speed: Most Wanted (its either or between these two, both are legendary racing games that still live rent-free in my head today)
2006 - Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition
2007 - Halo 3 (That's what I'm talking about, that's why he's the MVP, that's why he's the GOAT, the GOOOAT)
2008 - Gears of War 2
2009 - Dragon Age: Origins (lots of heavy hitters this year, DAO is one of my favourite games of all time and unfortunately still the best Dragon Age game)
2010 - Mass Effect 2
2011 - inFAMOUS 2 (another year with lots of good games to choose, but this game is very solid and brings back positive memories for me)
2012 - Persona 4 Golden
2013 - Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
2014 - Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor (the most difficult year for me to choose something, just remember playing this game the most)
2015 - Yakuza 0 (amazing options to choose here, also not sure where to put this game due to cross-platform and regional release wackiness, so putting it here)
2016 - Tales of Berseria
2017 - Nier Automata
2018 - Monster Hunter: World (maybe RDR2 if excluding the multiplayer, new content updates and friends factor)
2019 - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (Resident Evil 2 Remake very close 2nd)
2020 - DOOM Eternal
2021 - Lost Judgment (another difficult year, most likely due to the impact of pandemic on the industry)
2022 - Elden Ring
2023 - Resident Evil 4 Remake
2024 - Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Looking back at this list, I can recall most of the core memories made from these games pretty easily which sets them apart from my other favourite games I liked for the year yet so close to being selected. I am still sitting on 2023 and 2024 since I am very sure there are certain gaming behemoths that I might of chose, but didn't have the opportunity to play and complete them yet. Also some of the years are kinda weird due to different release dates for regions, but I like the current list honestly.

2005 - Still haven't finished any games that came out in 2005.
2006 - Partners in Time (Only a 5/10 and my least favourite game in the Mario & Luigi series, but it's the only game I beat from 2006.)

2009 - Professor Layton and the Last Specter (Removed Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, because I realized some of its flaws.)

2016 - Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition (Replaced: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice)
2017 - Your Turn to Die -Death Game by Majority- (Replaced: Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony) (Fitting how a Danganronpa game got beat out by the "Danganronpa but better" game.)
2018 - Deltarune (Replaced: Return of the Obra Dinn) (Return of the Obra Dinn is still a 10/10 game, it's just that Deltarune is an even better 10/10 game.)
2019 - Persona 5 Royal (Favourite game of all time as well!!)
2020 - Teardown
2021 - The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles
2022 - Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course (Surprising that this one stayed here, I thought I played something better than it from that year.)
2023 - Shadows of Doubt (Only an 8/10 but that might change once I replay it since I played it when it was in early access.)
2024 - Persona 3 Reload (I've only played two games from last year but this is a very solid 9/10 game.)

2007 - Tekken 6 - I think the best game from this year is Half-Life 2: Ep 2, but I've got a lot of fond memories related to this one
2008 - Monster Hunter Freedom Unite - Again, I think Dead Space is a better game, but I've got a lot of fond memories of this one

2011 - Dead Space 2... Portal 2... I can't choose 😭
