Longest Games You've Beaten!

FFXIV playtime: 339 days, 1 hour, 37 minutes. Or over 8000 hours.

Now, that's a meaningless figure because its just login time, not actual playtime which is why I'm not adding it to the site. A lot of leaving the game logged in when not being used. It also counts 23 content patches and 3 expansions, all played as released, which takes longer than doing them when they are old content.

I have 167 hours in Hollow Knight, and Persona 5 Royal is a close second, with 140 hours. I beat games with around 20 hours, according to HLTB. But I don't exactly know my times with most games, I deduce them because for some reason consoles mostly don't tell you your time

I was sure the next time I would be updating this list it would be to include Higurashi. But then I tried to beat Elden Ring once more and it took over all my gaming for like 2-3 months. My time for Elden Ring does not include the 42h from a previous (retired) playthrough.
When I eventually get around to finish Higurashi it will either place first or second place (currently).

Here are my 10 longest time on mostly Singleplayer games (Not including Multiplayers and MMOs):

8. Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy - PSP - 123.3 hours

10. Dissidia: Final Fantasy - PSP - 87.9 hours

I did not include Destiny 2 (around 1394.6 hours), Minecraft (around 1000 hours across all platforms), Animal Crossing: New Horizons (215 hours), Monster Hunter: World (171.7 hours), Mortal Kombat 11 (150 hours), Terraria (143 hours on Vita + 63.5 hours on PC), and so on. Since these games were played with friends.

Updating my list. Yet again. 2nd time in March 2023. What a month.

Well ... so this happend. A visual novel on top of my top five longest games. Who would have expected that to happen? Took me 2.5 years.

this is a complicated one, as i don't have a lot of concrete hours for the games thatI've spent on the most time on.
For Minecraft, I put 2000 hours to try and round every single hour of minecraft i might've ever played. The highest actual satistic I have is over 1000 hours on Windows Bedorck Minecraft, plus 500ish on Switch and however more I've played after that, the statistic is probably actually around that 2000 I put.
Now im not sure how accurate the switch progress tracker is, but the games ive spent the longest in on that console aside from minecraft are Pokemon Shield (450ish, but thats not including other playthroughs) Animal Crossing New Horizons (also 450ish) (which I have finished, but logged as retired) Smash Ultimate (400ish), Super Mario Odyssey (200ish) and some others. It's EASILY the console I've spent the most time on. I sadly don't really have concrete data, and all my playtimes are estimates nowadays.

I'll only be counting singleplayer games, since you can't really "beat" multiplayer games. I counted game compilations together because I only consider them completed once I've finished every game in the collection.

These are my top 10 longest games - only games I've completed are included. Also all times are from single playthroughs. For example I have beaten Hollow Knight 3 times now (40h30m, 36h51m, 31h23m) but I'm not included these cases here.

Rogue Trader was 13 minutes off from de-throning Higurashi! Btw these times might include DLCs. For example, in the Rogue Trader time there are almost 16h of Void Shadows DLC. As there is (at least) 1 DLC still coming it might still become number 1.

My most played multiplayer game is Cs go (cs2 now) with 2905 hours

And there are games that i couldn't say for sure the number of hours like minecraft (probably over 1000 hours) ; roblox (probably over 500 hours) ; rocket league (over 700 hours)

I was starved for a new Animal Crossing by 2020, and with sheltering in place...my combined total for all my playthroughs of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is over 800 hours...

By comparison, the next highest playtime is in my two playthroughs of Baldur's Gate 3, which sits at 190~ hours

It's been nearly 2 years since I did this and I've beaten quite a few longer games, so let's see what's changed. Going from lowest to highest again. Before I start with the list I should name a few honorable mentions. I'm playing Higurashi When They Cry, which has already surpassed P5R, and I still have a good chunk left. So when I complete that, It'll be far and away the new number 1. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope would've been on the list at 7th place with 102h 1m if I didn't separate the playtime for the Tower of Doooom DLC into it's own entry due to my vastly different opinion on that DLC.

I've bolded the new entries on the list compared to last time.

Probably Red Dead Remdemption 2 off the top of my head but that is because the game has so much open space and so many main missions to finish. All though I am not even sure if I enjoyed the game that much outside of the story, I remember it being good but the act of playing it I recall being tedious.

Others would include Dragon Ball Z Kakarot and the Knights of the Old Republic games. I don't think I can ever play the latter games again since they take FOREVER just for the actual game to start. Doing Taris in KOTOR 1 again just sounds like torture when I think about it. I am not even sure if I would've preservered with both games if I wasn't already a Star Wars fan to varying degrees.

1. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (265 hours total. Technically beaten, but there is still so much else to do in the game.)

4. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (108 hours to 100% everything in the base game, still need a second hard mode playthrough for platinum)

6. Final Fantasy XVI (86 hours for platinum trophy)
7. Persona 5 (86 hours)
8. Viscera Cleanup Detail (85 hours for almost all steam achievements, all maps beaten)
9. Nioh 2: Complete Edition (73 hours to beat all main and side missions in base game and DLC)
10. Cyberpunk 2077 (70 hours for platinum and DLC trophies)

There's a decent difference between my longest completions and longest play times.

My 5 longest playthroughs (I don't have an exact time for all of these):

3. Elden Ring (100%, ~130 hours)

As for my most played games excluding BOTW:
1. Stardew Valley (~500 hours, split across multiple platforms)
2. Bloons TD 6 (274 hours + who knows how many hours on mobile)
3. Elden Ring (254 hours, multiple playthroughs + DLC)
4. Terraria (211 hours, numerous playthroughs)
5. Risk of Rain 2 (178 hours, 100% + randomizers + new DLC)
