Juggling multiple games at once is fkn hard, even more so if your attention span is shit and can't focus on a single task at hand. i really struggle to finish even a few games each year cause there's so much stuff and it's hard to give attention to all of it, in other words sensory overload leaves me paralyzed. I'm now trying to minimize games i currently play, I beat my last year record of 2 games to now 3 games which is not a lot but still something lol

I mainly play long JRPGs, which may get stale after a while, so I often play them in two "parts". I play them for 10-20 hours, and then make a break for anywhere between a month and a year. In the meantime, I play other games, maybe not even RPGs, and then come back to finish the one I started earlier. That's why I have so many "Paused" games. Naturally, if a game is really good or not that long, I play it all at once. Guess it's nice to have a good memory and not lose track of them all. I'm trying to reduce this practice, though.

I'm one of the very rare species that plays multiple games at a time.
Playing the same game for weeks on end is exceedingly painful to me, especially now after I recently finished Tales of Berseria, which took me in a (somewhat rushed) main story playthrough about 40+ hours.
If I wouldn't alternate my games every now and then (even when it's something like one or two levels of DUSK or Hi-Fi RUSH inbetween), I'd lose my motivation and drive to tackle my backlog and gaming in general.

Usually I restrict myself to about 4-5 games at most, depending on game size. However, I'd also consider myself someone who retires/drops games more frequently than the average person.

I really admire people that have the perseverance and passion to finish one game at a time.

I usually have a ps4/5 game and a switch game going on at the same time. Just one each though. I randomize what im going to play next off my backlog to keep things fresh and put aside bias for series that I like more. My Ps4/5 games are for when I actually get the TV to myself like when my kids are napping or a random day off that I actually have the house to myself and the switch I play on every one of my days off for an hour or an hour and a half at night after my kids go to bed while my wife watches her shows. So like realistically, 3-6 hrs or PS4/5 a week and 3-5 hours of switch a week. I try to average 8-10 hrs of total gaming a week if possible but it usually winds up being closer to 6. So that being said, I like long games but they take me a LOOONG time to beat. FFXVI took me 3 months and The Witcher 3 took me pretty much a whole year. TOTK has been the only switch game ive played since its release, im about 95 hrs into it so im making better than normal progress on it.

I use to game like this but it was burning me out and making me lose my passion for gaming. I almost never finished a game because I was juggling too much at once. After I restructured how I play it reignited my love for the hobby. For the past 2 years ive beat 10-12 games a year from start to finish since I decided to shake things up. This website helped a ton too, I know what im getting into for play times to mentally prepare myself and seeing a game go from my backlog to completed is fantastic. I also like seeing how many hours ive been accruing in my games and using this website to give me an idea of what I got left. I do take longer than average but im an old gamer from the 8-16 bit RPG era. Its engrained in me to check everything and make sure not to miss any secrets or good equipment. Back in the day of those hard as nails turn based rpgs with high encounter rates that was a make or break move. Old habits never die I guess.

I only play one single-player game at a time and one co-op game at a time with a friend. It seems I don't get burnt out very easily. I played Assassin's Creed Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla back to back to back and still love the series. 400 hours over the course of five months.

I normally play multiple games at once, but they're never games with story as a main part of it. If I find a story game or something that really peaks my interest then I will stop all the other games I'm playing to check it out and that would continue if I end up liking it.

I can typically play more than 1 game at a time if they're very different and I play them in different contexts. Like, if I'm playing a game heavy with story and gameplay mechanics like Baldur's Gate 3, I probably can't simultaneously play something like Disco Elysium. Now, BG3 on the TV and Super Mario Bros. emulated on my laptop when I'm winding down at the end of the day? Much easier and I don't feel like I'm burning out on either.

My rule is one game at a time per device, which makes it a multiple games at a time rule.

Generally I have multiple games on the go at any one given time, one for PC, one for console, one for handheld, so I can play something I feel like playing and progressing, whilst dealing with my changeable interests 😅

I play multiple at a time because I like a variety as opposed to just playing one game which can lead to it feeling boring or too repetitive before I have completed it.
