Oh man, I don't know how to do this, but if I never start then how can I hope for actual progress. XD
So welcome everyone to this pandora's box that is gaming to my poor wallet!
Hi! I'm Eleanora1315 (you can call me Ele, Eleanora, etc. I really don't mind 😊).
I'm more of a casual player that tries to squeeze in as much gaming time I can while tackling university courses. Therefore I'll try to keep up regular updates, but it will all really depend on how much time I'll be able to dedicate to video games.
For now, my main objective is to maintain or reduce my backlog. So I have a policy of maximum one game bought per one game completed in 2024. 😁
Let's see how long this will last . . .
Also, I'm working on old games I've started but never finished / long term goals. I'm more of a 100% completionist type of person, so it's really hard for me to mark a game as completely finished without getting all the achievements and the tiny itty bits of contents. 😅
At the moment, I'm playing the main story / part of the following titles:
- The Room Three (currently working on the 3rd chapter)
- Mass Effect Legendary Edition (currently playing the first game, I've cleared all the side missions I could + Noveria. I've just started Feros.)
- Amnesia: Later x Crowd (completely cleared Kent's parts of the fandisk during the holidays and now I'm trying to get through Ikki's)
- Baldur's Gate 3 (mid act 2 I guess? Hard to say since this game has so much content and side quests)
- Fantasy Life (cozy and quasi infinite game 💛)
- Shady Part of Me (I'm stuck on a puzzle in chapter 3. Let's see I can find the solution any time soon!)
I'm also farming achievements / alternate endings for those games once in a while:
- Globesweeper
- Slay the Princess
- Yeah! You Want "Those Games", Right? So Here You Go! Now, Let's See You Clear Them! (that 1m dollars' achievement is going to be the end of me . . . 😤)
- Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight
- Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight
- Dogs Organized Neatly
- Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion (my luck is trash and even after a while I can't seem to encounter the shadow turnip on the Infinity Train 😭)
- A Date with Death (I've only completed one ending for now, the DLC's one, and I can't wait to see the others! 🖤)
- Cooking Companions (really loved the ambiance and the characters, but I can't seem to get back to it! Argh, one of my biggest challenges at the moment 😓)
All while trying to keep up with some mobile games + the daily puzzles of those three:
- A Little To The Left (100% completed, I just like the daily puzzles 😊)
- Hexcells Infinite (There are 10 000 puzzles available in the infinite mode, let's just say I'm trying to chip that bit by bit)
- Pokemon Picross (2015) (Since I started that one after the eshop closure, the limited amount of picrites I can farm everyday blocks any significant progression, hence why I'm playing a bit daily)
I didn't put everything up there, since I kind of go back and forth between a couple of titles, but those are my most frequently played ones as of late.
Regarding my monster of a backlog, all of it (with 2-3 exceptions) are all games I'm planning to play. There is no iffy or random bundles there sadly / happily. My time is based on 100% completion at average speed though, and since I have some very long games there like Civ VI and Fire Emblems games, it may seem bigger than it actually is? No, I'm not trying to cope here, don't know what you're talking about.
Some of the sorts of games I love
- Otome Games
- Puzzle Games
- Visual Novels in general
- Hidden Cats Games 😻
- Story-driven Games
- Mario and Zelda Series
- Information Games (don't know how to explain that one. Good exemples would be Home Safety Hotline, Orwell and maybe Papers Please?)
- Rythm Games
- Little Horror Games made with RPG-maker like Ib
Some of the sorts of stuff I play here and there / with others
- Souls Games
- RPGs
- Platformers
- Adventure Games
- Anime Inspired Fighting Games
Some of the sorts of stuff I tend to avoid
- FPS
- Games using Street Fighter's style
- MMOs
- Racing Games (Mario Kart is the exception 😉)
- Farming Simulators
- Space Setups
- Bullet Hells
- Sport Games
- LEGO Games
I'm relatively new here, so don't hesitate if you want to discuss a bit, I'm a bit shy / slow on the answers though, just be warned.
I'm also taking recommendations if you have some, preferably already in my library so I can continue to fight the backlog 😅 (but you can also be very cruel and expose me to new games you think I would enjoy 😈).
I'm mostly a PC and Switch user, but I also have at my disposition most modern consoles except for Xbox devices.
Hoping this won't be a scream into the void and that I'll actually continue to go through this insane backlog. 😅
Thank you for embarking on this journey with me!

Hopefully it all goes well for you Eleanora, clearing the backlog must be tough with how many games you find, don't really see many people find Parascientific Escape or Rhythm Thief & The Emperor's Treasure if they aren't actively looking for new titles haha.
Won't be adding recommendations to make sure you don't go deeper in the backlog's grip but hope it turns out well, my backlog needs to be taken down a notch or two when I get the chance but wishing you all the best and I'll try to keep a look out for your progress.

Thank you for the well wishes!
Regarding Parascientific Escape and Rhythm Thief & The Emperor's Treasure, it's my boyfriend who found them for me. He's more of a collector than I am and always discovers interesting titles for me to try out. 😁 With the eShop closure almost a year ago, I bought a lot of DS/3DS games that would be otherwise unavailable or way too expensive for me to buy. A good chunk of my backlog comes from this period.
I noticed that a significant portion of your games comes from earlier consoles. What aspects of those mediums interest you? 😊
I hope your backlog won't get the best of you either. If you ever start a blog too, give me a heads up, and I'll follow your adventure too! 😁

Woah! I can hardly imagine going through all of that. On the bright side, you have enough games to play for the rest of your life!
Are these all titles you would like to play, or does your list include bundled games? Do you have a priority system, or do you simply play what strikes your fancy?

Ah that figures haha, the Parascientific Escape and Rhythm Thief were ones I really enjoyed but I'm probably like your boyfriend where I try to be a collector of sorts of games that interest me and the demos of both of those games were enough to convince me to purchase.
As for the older consoles, I think its because I was behind a bit like a console generation or two when I first started so I am a lot more lenient about games in general since I can see the improvements throughout the years, and I think seeing those different variety of games helps me enjoy the effort put into it a lot more as well including researching like their development history and stuff like that.
I do have a bias more towards Sega though since I was a community moderator for them at one point and was really proud of that and wanted me to try that their other past titles I haven't seen before since some of their current games have references to them.
As for the blog, I really considered it but I'm not sure if I want to take the dive since I've been busier and it might be inactive in weird bursts haha

I tend to focus on one game at a time and tend to focus more on collecting games these days. With the future of the all digital future fast approaching. I am trying to build a huge backlog of steam games to eventually be able to give to my family to play etc

Hey! Thanks for sharing your gaming journey with me! It's nice to hear about your experiences with Parascientific Escape and Rhythm Thief (now I want to play them too XD).
Your perspective on older consoles is intriguing. Experiencing the evolution of gaming across different generations must offer a unique appreciation for the industry's evolution. I wished I could have experienced the same thing, but I didn't have easy access to consoles and games in my earlier years.
Your time as a community moderator for Sega sounds like it was quite a ride! And I didn't know those games had lots of references. Do you think I can play Sonic Colors on Wii without prior SEGA experience?
As for starting a blog, I understand the hesitation: I'm in the same boat! XD But hey, I think what's important is to share the fun, no matter if it's in weird bursts or consistently!

That's definitely a solid gaming approach. Even if I play a multitude of games at the same time, I try to always focus on one main game at a time.
And it's great that you're trying to collect games for your family. Aren't you scared that Steam will shut down someday or that your account becomes unavailable after you pass though? The same concern could come up with the obsolescence of physical games and consoles, but I don't know, it just feels easier to address that scenario by repairing them. 😅
Also, with "3000 years worth of games" in your backlog, it seems like your family and yourself are set for gaming eternity! XD
Good luck with going through that! 😁

Oki, so after one month, there are good and bad news:
Good news is, I've played and completed more games than I originally thought despite the mid-semester exams (I've even passed the 91% remaining bar, which hasn't happened in a while!)
Bad news is, Valentine's Day and free interesting GOG games have completely destroyed my progress 😭 (which is a good problem to have! I just feel a bit conflicted since even with my best efforts to stick to my resolution, it just seems never-ending, for better or worse 😅).
Anyway, here is the rundown for last month:
Completed Games
A lot of hidden cats games (those are definitely my weakness XD): 100 Hidden Cats, 100 Ninja Cats, Cat Search In The Wild West, 100 Robo Cats, 100 Dino Cats & Cats Hidden in Georgia.

Amongst all of these, I was pleasantly surprised by Cat Search In The Wild West and Cats Hidden in Georgia. The first one uses a lot of color schemes to hide the cats, and the rogue cats appearing after you click on their wanted posters is a nice addition. The second one is more complex than I thought! Still pretty easy, but some cats are very difficult to find compared to others in this franchise. I recommend them both if you like hidden object games, as they are either very cheap or free on the Steam store.
On the other hand, 100 Robo Cats and 100 Dino Cats were big disappointments for me. I'm starting to think about stopping buying cat games from 100 Cozy Games as they just seem copy-pasted from one another. The cats are very cute and everything, but it's not worth it if I can find all 100 cats in 2-3 minutes in a level. Maybe I'm just not the right audience for these, but they just seem like cat games and not hidden cat games. Do not recommend.
Orwell

This is one of the first games I completed on Steam. I only finished one playthrough at the time though, so I gave it another shot in the last weeks and completed my second and third playthrough to collect the remaining achievements. I'm so glad I did it! In this game, you read and analyze a lot of documents (newspapers, blog pages, social media, etc.) and decide which ones to give to inspectors to stop potential terrorists. So your perspective and what you feed to the machine determines the ending and the fate of the characters. Now mix that with a modern setup and a ''Big Brother'' surveillance vibe and you've got Orwell. Loved that game a few years ago and still love it now. Can't wait to play its sequel!
First Bite

I hesitated to put this one in the completed list, as I only completed the main routes and didn't play the DLC yet, but hey, it's both in the completed and the playing category so everything's fine. Anyway, great indie vampire dating sim! As the MC, you're a vampire expert, as in vampire modern nerd. You stumble upon a house that is rumored to be haunted and you decide to take a peek. In reality, you just stumbled into a vampire's nest. Good luck surviving and convincing them to not make you their meal. 😉 Gamewise, the variety of personalities and the synergy between characters is very interesting, and the many death flags add a touch of realism to the scenario. If you like dating sims with an 18+ touch, gender diversity, and vampires, this one is for you.
The Room Three & The Room 4: Old Sins

Yeah yeah, I know, puzzle games again. It's kind of a recurring theme of mine (and they are the easiest for me to complete, so why not). Anyway, those two are good sequels to the first two games. Sadly, they are a bit underwhelming compared to their predecessors though (especially the last one). The third game takes place in a mansion where you have to navigate the different rooms to escape. The multiple endings are a nice touch, but achieving them is way less intuitive than the main one (looking at you clock, you really made my brain work hard). The puzzles are nice. I don't have much more to say about this one. The fourth game of the series, though, is a mess. Again, you have to go through rooms to be able to escape a mansion (kind of), but this time, you have to go back and forth between places to use all your items, and boy does this give me nausea. Also, the puzzles are a lot easier than in their other games; the only difficulty is to remember everything going from one room to another. Despite all that, the story of the house's inhabitants is peculiar and it piqued my curiosity enough to finish the game. If you really appreciated the first two games, then go ahead. Otherwise, look away.
The Symbiant & The Symbiant Re:Union

Those ones, I'm mitigated. As much as the first game is an awesome and sweet BL story, the sequel feels rushed and empty from its meaning. Let me explain.
This visual novel follows three individuals: a spaceship captain, his second in command, and a mysterious alien passenger asking for a ride to his home planet with an unknown cargo. During this 3-4 week trip, a love (and horny) story develops between the captain and the alien passenger, but the unknown cargo causes suspicion and threatens the trust between the two. Will they be together at the end of this trip or will the mysterious sarcophagus keep them apart?
The first story has great pacing, interesting developments, twists, and turns. It's well-written, and I was really rooting for the ship to sail!
The sequel, though, is a whole other story. It follows two of the endings in the first game. Sadly, the way the relationship develops feels empty, and this sequel really felt like a Naruto filler: good for more content, but not significant one. The art style is also less satisfying in my opinion. But yeah, if you appreciate BL love stories, just play the first game (and carefully look at the warnings on the page, the NSFW patch isn't for everyone (I should have looked more myself 😓)).
Polimines 2

I don't have a lot to say for this one except that it's the hardest minesweeper variant I've ever completed. There is no guessing needed in any puzzle (despite what you might think or feel) so if you usually breeze through this type of game and are looking for a challenge, Polimines and Polimines 2 are good bets.
Super Mario Bros.

ScarletKitsune's conversation and their love for older gems gave me the push I needed to attack my classic backlog. At first, I thought I 100% completed Super Mario Bros., but then I read online that there are some new things in a second playthrough, so back to the playing list it goes. XD
Anyway, like I said, it's a classic, you can't go wrong. The last level makes me think of a haunted house level where you're always searching for the way out though (not my favorite level). It was interesting to see the origin of such an everlasting franchise (especially with Super Mario Wonders that recently got out and modified a lot of the usual Mario mechanics). Bowser definitely had a glow-up over the years, though. XD
Here it ends for the completed games in the last month or so. Regarding other updates, here is my new playing list as of late:
- Lords of the Fallen (2023) (my most played game as of late. The coop aspects are great! I've purified 2 beacons out of 5, so it's progressing at a good pace. Definitely my favorite souls-like as of now!)
- Needy Streamer Overload (I've almost reached the end of my first playthrough. Now I just need to get back to it 😁)
- Lil' Guardsman (had a great premise, a bit like papers please, but I feel like there is too much of a luck aspect to it and as an unlucky completionist, it bugs me a little. I'll have to continue it if I want to confirm or infirm my suspicions, though).
- Mass Effect Legendary Edition (nothing new for that one)
- Baldur's Gate 3 (nothing new for that one either)
- Shady Part of Me (Didn't find the solution yet. I'm starting to think about using a guide for that one part.)
Continuing to farm for achievements on / 100% complete:
- Globesweeper
- Yeah! You Want "Those Games," Right? So Here You Go! Now, Let's See You Clear Them! (reached 750 000 / 1mil, it's not much but it's honest work)
- Dogs Organized Neatly (almost over with that one)
- Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion (can't seem to encounter that d*mn shadow turnip on the Infinity Train 😭)
- The usual dailies, of course (A Little To The Left, Hexcells Infinite & Pokemon Picross (2015))

certainly a classic to get back to with Mario, need to get back to the classics myself which I certainly intend on doing outside of my busy work.
Super nice to see how well this blog is starting off. Hard to explain but feels like a lot of energy and the formatting looks so clean. You're off to an amazing start so hope you conquer more of that backlog along the journey.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the delayed post; March has been a rough month for me due to personal matters in real life.
Despite that, I'm still pretty proud of the results! 😊
Since my last post, I completed 13 1/2 games, but I caved during the Steam spring sales. 😭
To be fair, I adhered to my 2024 rule: do not buy new games if I've not maintained or diminished my backlog.
For better or worse, I had caught up with my new titles from February, so yeah, new titles, yeeaah?
Anyway, I'll come back to that later. For now, here are the completed titles from the last few weeks! 😁
Once again, the hidden cat games are omnipresent! : 100 March Cats, 100 Funny Cats, Cats and Seek : Dino Park, A Building Full Of Cats, A Castle Full of Cats, & An Arcade Full of Cats (including the DLC)

At this point, I don't think it's a surprise that I've completed a few of those this month too. Regarding feedback, the "Full of Cats" series and the Cats and Seek game are the best hidden cat games out there. The cats are well hidden while still looking cat-shaped, and the amount of content in each of them is great! You can even modify the colors to help you look in some of them!
The 100 March Cats and 100 Funny Cats, on the other hand, are very disappointing. Cats are easy to find, and the backgrounds are not very original and so simple. Go for the free level if you want to, but the DLCs are not worth it in the slightest.
20 Small Mazes

A quick free game offering 20 mazes that force the player to think outside the box. Nothing fancy, but it's sometimes not as simple as it seems. If you like quick and original puzzles, this one is for you.
Martial Law (2021)

Once again, it's a quick free game. This one explores a story centered on Poland during its communist period and the difficulties of a divorced father during such times. The story itself isn't bad, but it's definitely lacking some depth and nuances. Also, with such context, some routes were not realistic at all, and the pace is quite slow. Not really my cup of tea here, but it could be yours.
Looking Up I See Only A Ceiling

Put simply, Looking Up I See Only A Ceiling is an anxiety/depression simulator. It is, in my opinion, well-written and adequately demonstrates how an individual living with such conditions can feel in overwhelming moments. It's quick, cheap, and very interesting to play. If you like psychological simulations and questioning the reality of others, this game could be quite enjoyable.
Dogs Organized Neatly

A puzzle game letting you place cute doggies in predetermined forms. Simple, adorable, and quite tricky sometimes, it's a good game.
Hexologic

For all the Minesweeper and Sudoku lovers out there, Hexologic is great. You must combine the dots inside the hexes in a way so that their sum matches the one given at the edge of each line. With a normal mode providing you some assistance and feedback and a hard mode where you're on your own, these puzzles have a wide range of difficulty and are a good challenge if you like mental gymnastics.
P.S. Huge thanks to @blindly for the awesome gift! It was a real treat and much appreciated!
Boxes: Lost Fragments

Boxes: Lost Fragments is very similar to the "The Room" series, more particularly the first game which consisted of a series of boxes to open with intuitive mysteries to solve. In Boxes, there are 12 boxes to go through each with their own riddles and theme. The problems are original, and the boxes are beautiful as well as quite satisfying to open. 9/10 since the story is a bit lacking and seems a bit copied from The Room series.
Refind Self: The Personality Test Game

That's the half completed game I was writing about earlier, as I have only completed 1 playthrough and this game requires multiple ones to complete 100% of it. In Refind Self: The Personality Test Game, you're incarnating a little android in a post-apocalyptic world with limited interactions with the world which will define your personality. Indeed, all 100 interactions you can make will be recorded to determine which of the 23 types corresponds the best to your thought process.
The game is again pretty short, but the assessments it makes are quite on point. After approximately one hour, I got my 3 most fitting personality types which really fit me like a glove. The story and the interactions are compelling and there are so many mysteries to uncover as well as many perspectives to explore. I love this little gem and can't wait to complete another playthrough.
Logiart Grimoire

Logiart Grimoire has been my obsession for the last month or so. This game just got out of early access! You need to complete Minesweeper puzzles to form images filling Edward's grimoire, a little magic being conserving the stability of the universe. It's pretty simple and straightforward, but I do appreciate the fusion mechanics letting you create combinations of various items to create new puzzles + the amount community puzzles which is humongous! I've finished the main grimoire, but I'll definitely come back to clear the remaining community puzzles.
It was a small month, but it's all right. By playing less, I had the opportunity to spend more time on myself. 😁
Regarding the titles I've played recently and that I am planning on continuing during April, I have in mind:
- Lords of the Fallen (2023) (in coop with my boyfriend. We didn't clear any new big boss, but we collected a lot of eyes and other rare currencies to buy new skins!)
- Baldur's Gate 3 (I started a new gameplay save with my boyfriend. The mechanics in the second arc made it very unenjoyable for me, so I preferred to start over and experience the game with another build. I'll probably continue my solo playthrough later, but for now, it's on the back burner.)
- Backpack Battles (a game in early access about fighting other players with a combination of items you can buy in the shop. It's pretty chill and very fun for any puzzle enjoyer since you need to manage your inventory and the shape of it at the same time. 100% would recommend. It is still in early access like I said earlier though, so it has regular updates to balance the different classes and items. It is also very repetitive, so don't buy this game thinking it has a story or anything more than puzzle fights (at least at the moment when I'm writing those lines).
Needy Streamer Overload, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and Shady Part of Me are on hold for now as I have reduced my playing list for now + I didn't touch those in the last month or so.
And unsurprisingly, I continued to farm for Globesweeper, Yeah! You Want "Those Games," Right? So Here You Go! Now, Let's See You Clear Them!, & Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion + completed the usual dailies (A Little To The Left, Hexcells Infinite, & Pokemon Picross (2015))
Regarding the new titles added to the library, we have:
- Balatro
- Blood Domination
- Umineko When They Cry: Question Arcs & Umineko When They Cry: Answer Arcs
- The Higurashi When They Cry Collection
- Magical Otoge Ciel
- Slay the Spire
- SPEAKEASY

- Assassin's Creed Odyssey (with all its DLCs)
- Assassin's Creed Origins (with all its DLCs)

- Dragon's Dogma II (Created my avatar and my pawn, ready to start playing 😊)

- Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Gauntlets of Strength (I'm stuck on some bosses at the moment, but I'll come back to it later Lady Butterfly & Gyoubu Masataka Oniwa (the one on a horse) 😄)
- Backpack Battles (Playing (a bit too much XD) 😄)
- Refind Self: The Personality Test Game (Main Story already completed 😁)
- 20 Small Mazes (Already Completed 😜)
- 100 March Cats (Already Completed 😜)
- Cats and Seek : Dino Park (Already Completed 😜)
- 100 Funny Cats (Already Completed 😜)
- Boxes: Lost Fragments (Already Completed 😜)
- An Arcade Full of Cats: TimeWarp Trouble (Already Completed 😜)
For those who stuck around till the end of this post, thank you for taking the time to read all this. Your time and attention mean a lot to me, whether you're actively engaging or quietly reading along. So thank you for being here!
Moving forward, I'll try to post more frequently once my finals wrap up. I realize these long posts might not be everyone's cup of tea, so I'm brainstorming ways to make the blog more accessible and enjoyable for all, including those of us with shorter attention spans (like myself XD).
Lastly, I've been thinking of implementing a little voting or recommendation system. It's still just an idea though, so any input would be very helpful and I'd love to hear your thoughts on this! If you'd like to see me play a particular game from my library, let me know! It will help me determine how I should build this little system! 😁

Just read through everything, I love the way you style your blog! It's very neat but also fun. I'm a big puzzle game lover myself, and I used to play hidden object games with my mom all the time. I might be stealing some games from you as I look through all of this!
Digging through your library, I have some recommendations when you're looking for something to start:
OMORI - definitely an interesting RPG with horror mixed in. I haven't beaten it myself yet, but I spent some time playing it with a friend and it hooked me in pretty quickly!
Before Your Eyes - you can beat it in one sitting and also it made me cry
Doki Doki Literature Club - I'm a big visual novel fan myself and this one loves to mess around with the format, so it's super fun
Paradise Killer - Look the character designs are rad and the mystery is fun to unravel. I highly recommend not trying to 100% all the collectible though, you will drive yourself crazy
Not For Broadcast - COOL mechanics and storyline
Dream Daddy - Honestly just a fun silly little dating sim that makes me giggle when I play it, plus getting all the endings and achievements doesn't take too long
We Were Here - woof played this randomly with a friend once and it changed our lives. I don't know about the rest of the series (because they aren't free to play oops) but this one makes me feel things

Thanks, @jayfeather! I'm doing my best to maintain a neat and easy-to-read format for everyone.
Feel free to steal some games! I'm actually playing some of those hidden cat games with my mom, and she's a fan, so I'm sure yours would enjoy them too. XD What type of puzzle games do you enjoy the most?
Also, thank you for your recommendations! I've created a Steam collection for them, so I'm sure to bump these up higher on my to-play list. 😁 I'm still brainstorming about that recommendation/voting system, but I'll definitely keep those in mind!

Am I crazy for playing this much and updating the blog right before my exams begin? Yep, probably. But that's the fun part of living, right?
Anyway, here's a mid-week update because I tackled some of my semi-long-term goals last week and it's worth noting. 😊
So, regarding completed games, we have:
Yeah! You Want "Those Games," Right? So Here You Go! Now, Let's See You Clear Them!

This game is one of the rare ones on my "do not recommend" list. I'm a sucker for quick puzzles and wanted to actually play all those games we see too many times in those YouTube shorts ads, but never could because they never really existed. So, I gave this game a try and oh boy, did I regret it!
The puzzles are very, but VERY repetitive. As a minesweeper player, I usually do not have a problem with that, but this game is repetitive and really doesn't bring any challenge to the table. The only difficult puzzle is the money grab, and that difficulty is all but natural. You have to gamble to get any level, and 3-star completions are just dumb luck at that point.
Finally, this game is not made for completionists. The $1 million achievement took me months to finish (and that is including a couple of hours farming)! So, all in all, the game is fun for the first few minutes and scratches the itch of all those little phone games, but it's definitely not worth the price nor your time.
SquareCells

A small Minesweeper variant. Nothing much to say except it's nice. A good puzzle game if you don't mind minimalist appearances. 😊
Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion

I finally got that last achievement!!! That */%& Shadow Turnip achievement took me literal years to get because my luck is awful and it wouldn't appear no matter how many car trains I completed. 😰 Anyway, it's over now. Great roguelike about vegetables and tax evasion. Very funny and quirky. Would definitely recommend it as a quick game to complete in a night.
Hidden Winter Cats

More hidden cats! 🔥
It's been a disappointing week for puzzle games. Once again, same as last week with some of the 100 Hidden Cats games, the cats are a bit too easy to find in the free level and the DLC one is NOT worth it: half the picture doesn't even contain cats! Also, they're as small as a needle's head. That's just artificial difficulty and is not worth the price.
That's it for the last week and a half. I'm still thinking about the voting/recommendation system. In the meantime, please continue to send me some recommendations; it's very much appreciated. I'll try to update the blog once my exams are over (in approximately 2 weeks). In the meantime, here's the list of new games added to the backlog this week (yes, I cracked, AGAIN 😑, but hey, I'm happy during my finals weeks, so it's worth the trouble 😁).
New games of the week (and a half):

I'm so sad to read that Yeah! You Want "Those Games," Right? So Here You Go! Now, Let's See You Clear Them! is not that good... I have it on my backlog and I had high expectations for it!
I know it's not trying to be a WarioWare clone, but anything that resembles the series for just a bit always catch my eyes.

I think that if you're a fan of mini-games in general, like the ones you can find in WarioWare games, you could still enjoy ''Yeah! You Want "Those Games," Right? So Here You Go! Now, Let's See You Clear Them!''. It's just that after a couple of levels, the novelty wears off, and since none of these are particularly difficult, it gets boring pretty fast. However, the first few puzzles are still enjoyable.
Plus, since it's already in your backlog, nothing prevents you from playing the game for a bit and putting it down if it's not your cup of tea (except if you're also a completionist. If that's the case, I wish you good luck 😆).

I am back! Or at least, that is what I would like to say with certainty. XD
Gaming has taken a backseat in the last couple of months. University has been tougher lately, and juggling an internship, a new job, and full-time classes has been a real challenge. But I still thought it would be nice to keep you all updated on my journey.
So, for the big reveal regarding my 2024 year: I caved in 😭
Well, it isn’t really a surprise. I didn’t have much time to play games and still bought new ones. It is only logical that the backlog would grow. On the bright side, though, I’m at 86.2% unfinished games in my library, which is still better than at the beginning of last year when I was a little over 92% (got to see the bright side of things! Plus, I still enjoyed playing all those titles).
So anyway, here is a rundown of the last couple of months to give you a summary of what I have played! 😁
Completed Games:
Once again, a lot of hidden cat games: Hidden Cats in Amusement Park, FIND ALL, Purrfectly Hidden Cats - Kittenrock, Purrfectly Hidden Cats - Kittenwood, Purrfectly Hidden Cats - Kittenbay, Cats & Seek: Kyoto, Pawsome Hidden Cats - Kittynawa, A Tower Full of Cats, FIND ALL 3: Travel, A Park Full of Cats, FIND ALL 4: Magic, and A Castle Full of Cats.

I’ve only included images of the ones I enjoyed the most and would recommend to my fellow hidden cat game lovers. I’ll list the others I completed right here. Most of these games are okay. I’ve listed them in approximate score order, and I would only advise against playing the last four, which were really a pain to get through: Cats Hidden in China, Cats Around Us: Giant Cat, Hidden Cats in Berlin, Hidden Cats in London, Hidden Cats in Paris, Hidden Cats in Street Market, Cat Search in Medieval Times, Cat Search in Feudal Japan, Hidden Cats in Spooky Town, Find All: Christmas, Hidden Cats 2: Crafts, Hidden Cats in New York, Hidden Cats in Rome, Hidden Cats in Santa's Realm, 100 Istanbul Cats, HIDDEN CATS: The Last of Cats, Hidden Robo Cats, Hidden Cats in Breeze Village, 100 Cats New York, Cats Hidden in Christmas, 100 Korea Cats, Hidden Cats in Town, Hidden Dino Cats, Cats Hidden in Germany, 100 Alien Cats, 100 Space Cats.
The Shape of Things
The Shape of Things is a puzzle game that uses perspective to assemble objects from everyday life. I thought I had completed it in April 2024, but after careful examination, a new DLC was released in November 2024. I can’t vouch for the new extension, but the base game and the first DLC are quite enjoyable. The in-game gachapon system for unlocking new puzzles is a nice touch, and the ability to customize your environment (time of day, weather, etc.) adds warmth. Solid 7.5/10.
Mass Effect
This one is a huge RPG classic. It took me a couple of months to complete my first playthrough, and it’s a must-play for any story-driven game fan. The intricacy of the political issues and the heartbreaking choices you must make in life-and-death situations truly immerse you in the universe. Most characters have deep, well-developed personalities, and the relationships between crew members are interesting to observe (not to mention the available romances). This is one of the longest games I’ve played in the past year, but it’s 100% worth it.
Plus, if you play through the Mass Effect Legendary Edition, all your choices in the first game carry over to the second and third, making it one big, long story! The only downside, if you’re a completionist like me, is the long exploration rides aboard the Mako, an all-terrain vehicle used to roam random planets. There are way too many planets with only a handful of resources. Use a guide, or you won’t get out of there until next year! XD
Blush Blush
This one had been on my ‘playing’ list for way too long. It’s an idle game with some romance elements. I won’t lie—this game is a drag if you’re F2P and even when you’re P2W past a certain point. Right now, after over four years of playing and putting a little bit of money into it, I’m at max capacity in everything, but even then, I can’t advance in the DLC romances past 1-2 lover levels a day. There are about 10 main affection levels and then 100 lover levels before maxing everything, and there isn’t even anything at the end of it all. So 1 or 2 levels a day on one guy when there are about 20 of them each with 110 levels total is extremely slow.
This game is enjoyable for what it is: an idle game. However, the DLCs take too long to farm, and the last two boys of the base game are nearly impossible to reach and complete. If you enjoy this kind of game, I’d recommend either a full-on otome game or searching for other idle games like Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms.
Class of '09: The Flip Side
Class of '09: The Flip Side is… weird? Don’t get me wrong, the game is entertaining, but as the final title of this trilogy, it feels strangely out of place.
The first two games follow Nicole, a sarcastic, sociopathic teenager navigating high school in the 2000s. It’s… interesting, to say the least. I’m conflicted about these games—some jokes are genuinely funny, while others are just plain mean or boring. If you’re sensitive to taboo topics, avoid this series for your own good. There also aren’t many choices to make, so it leans more toward the novel side of "visual novel" genre rather than the game side.
As for this third game, instead of crude jokes sprinkled throughout a questionable slice of life plot, like in the first two games, you’re navigating the author’s fetishes. That’s it. If you plan on playing the Class of '09 games, skip this one—you won’t miss much except a lot of feet, which, if it isn’t your thing, makes the game extremely boring. 5/10 because it was bearable but not good per say.
Home Safety Hotline: Seasonal Worker
This DLC was a perfect play during the Christmas holidays. Home Safety Hotline puts you in the role of a phone agent handling calls from clients experiencing unexplained phenomena. Some have mice infestations, others bad ventilation, but some houses have… other kind of problems. Trolls and mischievous fairies aren’t always friendly to the inhabitants.
This game (and DLC) is an overall calm and relaxing experience. You do have some standards to follow, but after a playthrough, you can enable easy mode and simply enjoy the stories. Your choices impact your clients’ lives and even affect your general environment. However, you need to be extra observant and pay close attention to the calls—some are pretty tricky. Not a game to play at 3 AM on half a meal (unless you enjoy getting angry callbacks from clients XD).
Other completed games between the last blog update and today:
- Sudocats (Sudoku, but with cats instead of numbers. A fairly easy game.)
- Zodiacats (A sliding puzzle featuring cats for each zodiac sign. Once again, quite easy, but the art is beautiful. A perfect little relaxation game!)
- I commissioned some bees 0 (A hidden bee game. This one really wasn’t my cup of tea. The bees were small, and I didn’t really have fun playing it. It’s been a while, and I forgot to write a review, but I remember overall that it wasn’t a very good experience.)
- Cats Love Boxes (A logic puzzle game where two adorable cats push and climb on boxes. Some puzzles are quite complex. The two different levels of difficulty and the little outfits for the cats are definitely a plus, as well as the controller compatibility. Would recommend for players who like cute cats and simple puzzles that can quickly become challenging. 😉)
- CrossCells (A great alternative to Minesweeper. It has harder rules to manage and demands quite a bit of mental calculation, but it’s worth it and actually very gratifying when you finish a level. 7/10.)
That’s pretty much it for the games worth mentioning. I haven’t completed much outside of hidden cat games, but I have started or continued a lot of titles that are either on my 'on-hold' or on my 'playing' list.
The games I started / continued are:
- Dredge (A cute little Lovecraft-inspired fishing game where you can catch colorful and diverse little fishes while being pursued by various lurking horrors. I’ve finished the whole main story and collected almost all the base-game fishes, but I still haven’t played the two DLCs released in 2024.)
- Lords of the Fallen (2023) (I continued this one here and there, but there isn’t much progress to report overall.)
- Fantasy Life (This one is about creating a little life in a fantasy world. You can play as 16 different classes (if I remember correctly) and switch between them as you like while going on quests and exploring the world. Fantasy Life is the Animal Crossing for fantasy and DnD nerds out there. 100% recommend. Progress-wise, I’ve reached my first maxed-out class and finally made it to the desert.)
- Needy Streamer Overload (NSO didn’t really catch my attention. I played for about two and a half hours, but I just couldn’t continue—I was yawning too much. Since people seem to love it, I put it on the ‘on-hold’ list to pick up later, but so far, it’s disappointing.)
- Cooking Companions (Cooking Companions follows a group of friends stranded in the woods on a stormy night, who seek refuge in a cabin. I can’t say much more, but for those who have played it, I’m past the turning point. It’s a great visual novel. Try it. CABBAGE!)
- Shady Part of Me (I finally got past the part I was stuck on! I’m currently completing Act 4 out of 4. It’s a cozy puzzle game with fantastic OST and ambiance in general. It’s also a great metaphor for introspection.)
- Cyberpunk 2077 (I got sidetracked… I completed some missions, but I spent most of my playtime in the arcade. Yeah… can’t say I really ‘played’ that one yet. 😅)
- Tailor Tales (Tailor Tales is a mostly free otome game that explores different love-interest archetypes beyond the usual clichés. The game is often updated and the developer still releases 1-2 routes per year. In 2024, Aiden and Gray were released. I’ve finished most of Aiden’s route (the shy gamer) and I have Gray’s route (the delinquent) left. But I heard another route is coming soon, so I guess this game will stay on the backburner for a while.)
- Backpack Battles (I’ve continued expanding my strategies and techniques by exploiting possible combos. The VS mode is out now, too, so you can play with friends. Great puzzle and strategy game! Plus, you can unlock little outfits with your victory points, giving you an actual in-game goal beyond the matches.)
My current active playing list is:
- Bloodborne (A dark fantasy Souls-like. I recently reached Byrgenwerth.)
- Love and Deepspace (An otome mobile game that is far more realistic and interactive than most. However, it can be quite resource-intensive for a phone. The events are varied, and the gacha’s pity system is fairer than most I’ve seen. Definitely a must-play if you enjoy complex characters and exciting love stories!)
- Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin (I completed No-Man's Wharf with the ghost ship a couple of weeks ago. Solid Dark Souls game. I love playing with two axes at the same time. 😋)
- Logiart Grimoire (I completed the main game a while ago and even wrote about it. But the devs released five DLCs, so I’m slowly working through those as well.)
- Tavern Talk (A cute little bar game where you prepare drinks and assign quests for adventurers. The world feels extremely alive, and the characters are complex. I keep coming back for more—to see how their quests unfold and hear their new stories. A great cozy game.)
- Batman: The Telltale Series - Episode 1: Realm of Shadows (My first Telltale and Batman game. I’m pleasantly surprised! I really like the Telltale format—it’s more interactive than a simple visual novel and gives you many opportunities to influence the narrative. I’m about to finish the first chapter, and I love it.)
- Lkyt. (A great BL game. I’ve only completed one route, Yael’s, the foreigner, but despite a slow start and some plot holes in the first 2-3 hours, it really picked up in the middle. The CGs are stunning, and the plot twists in the second half were fantastic. The samurai setting was a huge turn-off at first, but it grew on me. Maybe I’ll try Birushana or Hakuoki next. I still have three routes left, but I’m taking a break after the first because it wrecked me emotionally. 😓 This one is NSFW, be warned.)
- Sailing Era (My new little obsession! 🥰You sail with your ship and crew to the four corners of the Earth to explore during the 1700-1800s era. I chose Andrew as my first captain. Each captain has their own special quest and bonuses. You can level up each member of your crew as you wish, manage the ship, complete commercial contracts, fight pirates, translate books and maps, search for treasures, and so much more. The maps are mostly accurate, so if you have some knowledge in history or geography, it’s awesome to research specific towns or products. This hidden gem is my main focus lately—it scratches all my itches with great art, tons of freedom, cool quests, a huge amount of content, fascinating characters, and more exploration than one can handle. A must-play for RPG lovers!)
Regarding the recommendation system, I thought it was ready, but I’ll wait to see if I can update this blog more regularly so that it actually stays interesting for you all. And @jayfeather, I haven’t forgotten your recommendations—I even started some of them! I’m just waiting to have more content before mentioning them here.
RIP to my earlier resolutions to write shorter posts and to maintain (or even reduce) my backlog. 😂
See y’all soon! 😋

Hey guys! Time for a little update!
I got a bit of time this week to start and/or continue some games, so here I am to avoid monster posts like I usually do. 😅
Here’s the rundown:
COMPLETED GAMES
The mandatory hidden cat games: A Shelter Full of Cats, An Arcade Full of Cats, 100 Romantic Cats, Stray Cats in Cozy Town, 100 New Year Cats & 100 Waiting Cats

The last few days have had their ups and downs. The “2025 update” for An Arcade Full of Cats and the game Stray Cats in Cozy Town were awesome (which is especially surprising for Stray Cats in Cozy Town since it’s a collab with 100 Cozy Games). A Shelter Full of Cats was also a breath of fresh air. These three titles are colorful, relaxing, and really entertaining, with little Easter eggs here and there. Some aspects could use improvement, like the hint system (for example, A Shelter Full of Cats immediately reveals the exact positions of the cats instead of indicating a general area), but overall, they’re still really enjoyable hidden cat games.
On the other hand, 100 New Year Cats and 100 Waiting Cats were so bad that I didn’t even bother with the DLCs. The cats barely look like cats—some are just two tiny dots for eyes and nothing else. It’s extremely disappointing for a hidden CATS game, but I expected nothing more from 100 Cozy Games. 😮💨
STARTED GAMES
Slender Threads

A great recent discovery! You play as Harvey, a traveling salesman and aspiring author who stops in Villa Ventana, a decrepit little village, hoping to make a quick buck. But the longer he stays in town, the stranger things get—a weird creature lurking at the edge of the woods, a radio calling out to him specifically, and eerie visions of macabre kidnappings. Help Harvey uncover the truth by exploring the streets of Villa Ventana, gathering clues, and trying to avoid trouble with the local police.
Winion Virus

Another small game I picked up during last week’s sales. You take on the role of a caretaker for winions—tiny, adorable AIs that live inside computers. As the player, you become an illegal caretaker for these conscious little beings. What could go wrong, right?
Well, so far, nothing’s gone south for me, but based on the trailers I’ve seen, it’s only a matter of time before things take a dark turn. I’d recommend this to anyone who enjoys cutesy-creepy games like I do. I’ll report back when I’ve played more!
Birds Organized Neatly

A great puzzle game featuring birds. That’s it. 😆
I’ve completed the dog and cat versions, and the bird edition is just as good so far.
CONTINUED GAMES
Lkyt.

I started a new route (Takeru) in this BL game. So far, it’s rather disappointing compared to the first route I completed, but since the relationship between the MC and the love interest is still developing, I’ll hold off on further judgment. All I’ll say for now is that love stories between an upper-class individual and a commoner are really not my cup of tea.
Bloodborne

I completed a couple of dungeons and continued Byrgenwerth. Progress is much slower in co-op since we have to do everything twice, but this creepy dark fantasy Souls-like remains one of my favorites—despite all the PlayStation Network issues lately. 😓
Love and Deepspace

I’ve been farming for the limited event lately. The cards are amazing, and the stories set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic environment are totally my vibe! Plus, we finally get to see a certain character—who’s usually playful and bright—show his darker side (Rafayel), and I love it! Can’t wait to complete the whole event!
GAMES ADDED TO THE LIBRARY
- Winion Virus (Started)
- Birds Organized Neatly (Started)
- Slender Threads (Started)
- Urban Myth Dissolution Center (Backlog, the premise seemed interesting, and I almost bought it on Switch from PlayAsia. I'm happy I waited and got it for way less on Steam.)
- Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Backlog, I have the prequel, and I hate not having the sequel ready when I play a game.)
- Cryptmaster (Backlog, I really appreciated the creative liberty of this game. The idea of being able to write anything and make it happen is the pinnacle of freedom for a player in a similar environment. Anyway, I really like games that play on words and linguistics (like Homicipher), and this one seemed to scratch that itch.)
- Chronicles of Tal'Dun: The Remainder (Backlog, I played the demo and quite enjoyed it, so I bought the full game.)
- Rain and the Wolf (Backlog, a cute BL game inspired by the “Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf” fairytale. I loved the first episode of Taisho x Alice, an otome with a similar vibe that is also inspired by fairytales, and the art is gorgeous, so I grabbed Rain and the Wolf while it was on sale.)
- The Silent Kingdom (Backlog, one of my long-time wishlisted games that mixes otome and RPG in a single experience. I can’t wait to play it, but sadly, only one chapter out of three is available right now since it is in early access.)
- Dawnfolk (Backlog, this one was a spur-of-the-moment purchase. It seems extremely similar to Loop Hero, one of my favorite management games, hence the quick buy.)
That’s it for now! The past few days have brought a lot of variety and new discoveries, which is surprising given that midterm exams are coming up.
See you all soon!
