PS2 recomendations

Timesplitters 2 although this is more a multiplayer game I still thoroughly enjoyed this game alot

I second this one - missed it in my post as I played on PSP but it's an absolute gem!

I just got a PS2. This is my first play station and I'm not sure what to play. Does anyone have recommendations?

Update: When I got the PS2 I forgot to get a memory card so I ordered it from amazon and got it today. I've started playing god of war and I also picked up Spyro the dragon as well as Max Payne.

Might want to keep in mind you can play PS1 games on a PS2 also. Just thought I should mention in case you didn't know or forgot. All models of PS2 are backwards compatible, so don't worry if you have bought a slim model.

I haven't played many PS2/PS1 games, and most of them have already been mentioned so I guess I'll just recommend Pac-Man World 2 and Metal Gear Solid 1. I will also mention that Metal Gear Solid 3 is my favourite PS2 game, I highly recommend it just like the others who have replied.
