I have many games that I tend to go back to and play. The Forza Series is a big one for me. I love the simulator/simcade world of cars and ever since I watched original episodes of Top Gear and The Grand Tour I've fallen in love with the automobile world. Just driving in a Ford Focus RS or even a Audi Sport Quattro always makes me jump with joy. Motorsport is incredibly fun but Horizon is really where it's at nowadays. The Serious Sam games as well, DUH. If you know me I play these games every few months. Borderlands Game Of The Year Enhanced is a game I love going back to as well. It's just such a bloody fun game and it makes me get a loot high whenever an enemy explodes with guns falling out of them. Paint The Town Red is also a fun way to waste time (Although play it with a trainer/cheat program and you'll get the most enjoyment making it a power fantasy) Left 4 Dead 2 Coop is also a blast and I try and play it lots. Deep Rock Galactic is also one of my favorite coop games ever so I keep going back to that as well.

Those are some. Others I can think of are maybe Ravenfield and Modern Warfare Classic.

I guess Mass Effect. As everyone here knows, it is a perfect game, so relaxing with its world, music and gameplay. Elder Scrolls Online also counts, a familiar gameplay loop that avoids the repetitiveness of other MMOs.

Persona 4 Golden and any 3D Mario title mainly. Can also dive into Star Fox 64 or Assault at any time.

Ah yes, it could be perfect 7/10 if I forced myself through it. Sadly I can't ;(

What, could your low-rent GPU only run it at 30 FPS?

I find Mirror's Edge to be so relaxing. It's the first game that comes to mind as a "Comfort Game".

I come back to it once a year and own it on every platform. The minimalist environments, music and the "flow" just feel nice and homey.

Minecraft - Definitely a major comfort game to me. Last month it was a game I turned to when I was having a rough week due to an incident at work. It allowed me to stop thinking about it for a little bit and just escape into the game. I didn’t actually play this much when it was at its peak popularity, I’ve just gotten into it more and more over the years. I’ve never even made it to The End before, the furthest/most complex thing I do is build a nether portal. I just really like exploring the world, mining, and building things when an idea pops in my head.

Civilization series - This is probably more like comfort heroin to me lol. I always end up playing this all day whenever I decide to. I’ve loved this series ever since I decided to try out my grandfather’s copy of Civ 3 when I was visiting. I generally delve into it at least once (generally more) every year and I always enjoy it. I always feel super invested in the civilization I create and I often think about it even when I’m not playing. I do have a problem of never finishing the games I start though, I generally start a new one every time I have a large gap between playing sessions. I’ve only ever finished a game to completion once in Civ V.

The Sims 3 - Most of the time I don’t feel like playing this, but sometimes the desire hits me and I can spend hours playing this if I didn’t have other things to do. I feel it’s a good escape when I’m down or I feel my own life is too uneventful and dull. I generally try and stick to the same game file and I like seeing how my character’s genes pass down the generations.

Rocket League and Deadbolt both spring to mind. I replay Chrono Trigger semi-regularly so there's that as well.

Comfort games are probably Persona 4/5, Majora's Mask, Earthbound, Max Payne, Silent Hill 2. Rich atmospheric or understated games always do it for me.
