There are items to collect during the course of your adventure which may prolong the life of your character long enough to survive. These items include livestock to restore health, sacks of gold, weapon power-ups, healing kits, and moon and sun cards which can turn days into nights or vice versa. Both characters end up taking different paths and dealing with different storylines, but in the end they have to face down the same wretched demons including death itself.
