The game is divided into six pages, and you must eat 30 pieces of fruit in order to turn each page. To get the fruit, Yoshi may swim, walk, run, push items, jump, stomp on enemies, and pound the ground. If Yoshi swallows an enemy, the enemy then turns into an egg, which can be broken to reveal hidden platforms, items, or other secrets. There are 24 levels in all, but you can't actually see them all in one game, making it a long-lasting adventure. For those interested in a faster adventure, Trial mode simply requires you to rack up points.
