As for me I'm keeping a check on new Fire Emblem Three Houses trailers so I get more of the game's mechanics. Seems like it's gonna be Fire Emblem in Hogwarts, only missing Slytherin... Speaking of persona, it's the same character designer as the persona series ~

I'm still hooked on Assassin's Creed II. The longer I play, the better it gets. I don't know why I waited this long to play this. This is the first time I get so addicted by a game since Breath of the Wild two years ago!

I thought the same when l played it last year! It got me hooked on the series, and now I get why everyone is so fond of Ezio.

I'm also on the younger side of the Force as I'm turning 23 this year! My parents never played any game in their life, but they bought me a PS1 when I was around 5, and then I got into gaming little by little. I probably reached my peak 2 years ago, though I probably play less than everyone here (plus I play very slowly). I went pale a few times as well seeing some of your profiles…
I love retro games, so I'm also reeeeaally glad emulation and virtual consoles exist (I once tried searching a physical copy of a GBA game and it was 400€??).

Oh I played a bit of it! It was the first (and only) VR game I tried, and I actually had quite a lot of fun.

Right now I'm playing Octopath Traveler. I never thought I would reach 70 hours (and I barely got past 3/4 of the game).

Just started getting into it only on episdoe 56

Ohooo I don't know if I can call myself a hardcore fan (I'm at the beginning of the fishman island arc, though I saw a lot of spoilers about for what happens next), but like One Piece quite a lot! I only watched the anime, but I'm thinking of continuing with the manga instead of the anime, I feel it's better paced. To those who tried both, is it really?

Btw when I just started playing tabletop rpgs, I discovered the existence of tabletop One Piece (with all its variants). I never actually played it though.

I'm sure no one could never have guessed it, but my main is Ike.
I also feel confortable with Link and Marth/Lucina.

I don't know if it works for others but I just listen to some of the game's soundtracks, and if the game is popular, I look at some memes about it. Then I suddenly feel the urge to play the game in question.

I'm not as much against my powers being taken away in the beginning as losing all my guns midway through, like in Half-Life or DooM 3.

That's just sadism.

Partly because I just beat the game and I wanted something a little retro, mostly because I like his unexpected sassiness ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Also, another thing I hate is when at the beginning of a game, you get all of your powers, but then, the game gives you the middle finger and takes it all away from you and you have to earn it back! SO MANY GAMES DO THIS. Assassin's Creed 1, The Metroid Prime Series, Yakuza. The only time I feel like it's acceptable is with Darksiders because you still feel like a badass in that game because the combat is really good! In games like Yakuza, they punish you immediately after taking away all your powers, making you feel weak and puny.

Here is my message to the developers. Either Let Me Keep My Powers, let me earn my powers from the beginning without taking them away, OR HAVE NO POWERS AT ALL. I cannot stand this and this design practice needs to stop.

MAN I agree with this so much. The first time it happened to me was in Assassin's Creed 1 and I almost dropped the game because of it. I just finished Yakuza but I had to grind so much to get my powers back. I wish I didn't know them at the beginning so that I don't feel the difference. At least there was an in-game explanation.

As for me, I don't like it when in RPGs, when you have to search for someone in X city, the exact location is pinpointed on the map. I mean, if the location is precisely explained to begin with, why not? But I like to search a minimum by myself… Not all RPGs do it though.

Just beat Yakuza Kiwami!! The game itself wasn't that hard, but the boss before the last was soooo twisted. I think they just wanted to torture the player. The boss and his two sidekicks have guns, the boss would throw grenades every 5 seconds (literally), and the two sidekicks come back to life once. As if it wasn't enough, when you lose, you restart from a few fights before (which includes some short cutscenes). A win I'm very proud of.

I know what you mean!! It's like, even though you know the game isn't perfect, you can't think of anything else for months! It happens to me pretty often so the last game that captivated me is usually the last game I played hahaha. Still, I guess there is always a difference in degree.

Same as pongsifu, I reeeaaally got captivated by the Mass Effect trilogy, I finished the whole thing, DLCs included, in two months even though it was during my finals, watched tons of videos of it, listened to the soundtracks and even drew fanarts, for months. I literally fell in love with the series. I also love the Dragon Age series, but I think I got a tad more captivated by the Mass Effect one.

Not so long ago I played Yakuza 0, and fell in love with it as well (maybe a little less than Mass Effect, but still). Now I finished Kiwami and I'll probably buy Kiwami 2 soon. So I guess the last one that captivated me was Yakuza ~

This might be an unpopular option, but I am a Country music fan. Where ever I go people talk trash about country music, but I think it is great. Thoughts?

Well I personally really like Dolly Parton, so I guess I like country? And "Cotton Eye Joe" always puts me in a good mood hahaha. But when you say "country", most people probably think of some weird clichés, that's probably why they make fun of it. Tell them "I will always love you" is country music and they should go ??????
