Hi gamers! I'm near the end of my studies and when I finish, I want to beat one of these 3 giant games (sabbatical month before I start searching for work). They are:

- The Witcher 3. Only played like 10 hours to the first one. I liked it, but I got stuck in a boss so that I couldn't go back to level up.
- Persona 5 Royal. I've never played any game of the series, but I've been told that is AMAZING (3 and 4 are also on Game Pass now, but I don't know which should I start first).
- Breath of the Wild. I played it like 15 hours to beat one of that big bosses, but I don't remember why I left it. Maybe so much to study a couple of years ago.

Which one do you think it's the most worth it?

I would return to BotW personally. Such a great game overall.

With bias I say Persona 4 since I love this game. It’s a good lead up to Persona 5 since 5 expands on 4 in so many ways, and I honestly have no idea if it would leave game pass at some point.

Definitely Persona but which to start first doesn't matter since the 3 don't connect story wise. It also can be jarring to play 5 first but move onto 3 and 4 since they're more older. Depends on you to be honest on which to start first.

I haven't played Breath of the Wild and I retired both Witcher 3 and Persona 5 ;)
Quality-wise all three are in the eyes of many or most gamers among the best games out there. So my advise would be around how big you want to commit.

If I were to give another chance to either Witcher 3 or Persona 5 I'd choose The Witcher 3.
Both are huge games but Persona is a much bigger commitment.

Persona 5 Royal: main story time: 102h !!!
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: main story time: 51.5h

So my rationale would be "If I get bored along the way, say after 40h, I could focus on Witcher 3's main story and probably be done in 10ish-20ish hours". That's somewhat realistic to push through. Can't be done with Persona 5. If you get bored after 40h, you'd still have something like 60 hours to go - or retire the game and have "wasted" 40h.

Therefore, between 2 games that you (and I) have retired before, I'd go with the much much smaller commitment: Witcher 3

My personal pick of the three would be P5, or 3 or 4 for that matter (still think 3 is the best atmosphere and story-wise).

Many of you recommend Personas, so I think it'd be a good option since I thought it was a great series, but didn't expect to be the most voted at this point.

On the other hand, what you said about main story duration is a great point too. I tend to do everything I can (talking about optional missions and else), so that I have a 140 hours slot of Skyrim which it's not finished. If I tend to be "lost" in huge content, maybe I should choose the shorter main story, so that I could focus on it if I got bored or maybe had to spend more time in other things.

I'll keep thinking, but maybe The Witcher could be a good idea because of that...

I may be biased since the only one of the three I’ve played but I’d say Breath of the Wild. It’s amazing, and the sequel comes out later this year so might be a good time to play this one. I’ve heard good things about all three of your options though so I imagine you’re in for a good time regardless!

Since I'm a huge fan of JRPGs, I would suggest playing Persona. I'd say start with P4G, then P5R, and if you got addicted to the series, then also play P3P. These games are really time consuming though, and if you don't like turn-based stuff then you'll likely get bored with this game.

If you want more of an open-world RPG, then play BotW or The Witcher 3. I haven't played BotW, but it looks fantastic from the gameplays I've seen. The Witcher 3 has so much to offer, and I suggest taking your time, finishing up quests and experiencing the wonderful world it has. I'd say I finished The Witcher 3 + All DLC much faster than Persona 5 Royal.

If you’re worried about running out of time to finish it, I’d go with botw. This took me the least amount of time out of the three (~50hrs). I also think you might also get a bit burnt out trying to finish P5 in a month. But they are three of my favourite games of all time so any choice is gonna be great :)

I'd easily recommend Persona 5, especially since you've tried the other 2 listed above. Just know that it is absolutely a very long grind, but we'll worth it. It was my first Persona game as well, and it was so good that I immediately picked up Persona Strikers when it released, and I've now started persona 3 as well.

I'd recommend finishing what you've put the most hours into, which is BotW. I've never played the game myself, and probably will never. But every time I talk to ANYBODY about Zelda, or any time I hear anything about Zelda, it's always this game that gets mentioned in the forefront and that's always because of how good it is. So take that how you will :)

I loved BotW and couldn't put it down. I remember playing it almost none stop. The only thing that took my attention away from the game was my job. I always recommend it.
But since you've played 15hrs and can't remember why you put it down, it might not be the best choice for you. Personally, when I stop playing a game after a few hours it means the game wasn't fun enough for me to continue.

I don't have an opinion on the other two games because I haven't played them.

I'm very biased as Breath of the Wild is my favorite console game, but you should still play it.

My vote is Witcher 3. It's one of the best games I've ever played. I really like the Persona series (played 3 and 4, but not 5 yet) and definitely recommend playing one at some point. And I enjoyed Breath of the Wild, but it took me 2 years to get through it. I'd get sort of bored, wander off, play other things, get caught up in work, come back to it for a while, get sort of bored, wander off, play other things...
