When I made this account, I was starting to get into SCP, which is funny for me, because I'm a big scaredy-cat.

I thought that was cool, so I kept using it for a while. No one ever got the reference.

He said something had happened, and that a bunch of these things had gotten loose at the same time, and caused this foundation place to lose control. He said it became a “GH-0 'Dead Greenhouse' scenario”.

Hi, y'all. It's probably been years since the last time I posted here, good to see you again.
Right now I'm working my way through Valkyria Chronicles, and when I get tired of that I'm putting a little time into Cultist Simulator. I've tried for many years to get all the way through VC, but I've always wound up stopping probably halfway through for one reason or another. Eventually, when I come back to it, I forgot what had happened in the story, or how to play, or both, and then I have to start all over again. This happens to me a lot with JRPGs, I think mostly because they just tend to be so very long. I'm aiming to fix that this time though. Right now I'm setting about an hour or two aside for gaming a day, so it looks like I'm going to be with these games for a couple of months. I have a couple of short games I want to beat in the meantime though, and I might swap those in for a weekend or two.

For me, it's arcade-style games. I rarely feel compelled to 100%, but I know that if I really enjoy a racer or shmup, it won't sit right with me if I don't clear every last challenge on the highest difficulty. 1CC or bust! I end up in a weird spot where I hope I don't like a game 'too much'.

I know this is probably outside what you'd call a normal use case, but could support for text-based browsers be improved? I can't login when I try and use the site through w3m. Obviously I can use other browsers or I couldn't post this, but it's not ideal.

Hey all! Been a minute since I posted here. Chronoja still at the top of the backlog list I see :D.
Anyways, I've been thinking about how since I want to be able to do most anything possible with my consoles (and because I enjoy appearing less than sane), I will eventually come to own no less than 16 OG Xboxes to be able to host LAN parties (in spite of the fact I don't even know 16 people that would want to play Halo with me).
But this got me thinking; are there any other games for other systems that can use such a large quantity of consoles? I can't think of any games for the PS2, GameCube, or Dreamcast that can take advantage of more than 2 consoles in a local setting.

Pretty much this, but this is actually why I prefer shorter games. There's no way to really create a game that goes on for longer than 50 hours that's primarily composed of "meaningful" content, unless someone's making their magnum opus.

I think you're underestimating the number of projects that had narrative set on the metaphorical back-burner.

I certainly had some fun with it on the Vita. It wasn't the greatest game of all time, and I would be hesitant to recommend paying full price for the remaster, but it had its moments.

Most Overrated Game?

For me, the award for most over-rated game I've yet played goes to the original Metal Gear Solid. While it does a number of interesting things for the time and the stealth is executed well, the second half of the game downplays these aspects with gimmicky boss-fights and boring/frustrating grunt battles that require you to interact with the games limpest mechanic- the combat.

I can't speak for Dragon Age, but for KotOR: I'd still recommend playing through the game. Most of the time the combat sections don't last too long/ can be completely avoided. The strength of the game was always in the dialogue choices anyway. However, if you really can't stand the combat, a Let's Play wouldn't replace actually playing it, but it would suffice. I should note that if you can find an LP where they make either all evil or all good choices that would be best. Bioware's titles always shine when you fully lean into the morality system.

... and it's amazing. My hands are still jittering as I type. Everything about it just oozes slick cyberpunk perfection, down to the last detail. The only thing that could possibly be described as lacking is the gameplay, and even then that's because the rest of the game is so brilliant it outshines the competent simplicity of the "combat". It is perplexing to me, given that I would recommend the game almost without hesitation to anyone that asked, that I hear so little about it.

As people thought, it was a firmware issue. nothing to be done but get it replaced.

Update 2: finished initializing, issue still persists with Nier. Downloaded games and applications now have the issue as well.
The games and apps I have tested that dont work are: nier automata, Let it die, and Netflix.
The ones that DO work are: Blacklight Retribution, Amazon Video, and Plex.
Does anyone know if these software have anything in common?

Update: Tried reinstalling the game, same issue. I don't think there's anything wrong with the system, as other games I have downloaded work fine, although because they are downloaded and Nier is a disc, it is possible there's something wrong with the disc drive. I've looked up the error code, and the instructions for it say that if all else fails I need to initialize the system. I'm gonna go ahead and do that now. Wish me luck.

I just got my new copy of the game today, put it in my new PS4, and get this:

The framerate is also very slow, and I can barely make it past the opening logos. Anyone have an idea of what's going on here?

Welcome to our little piece, Karlos. It's nice to meet you.
I left most of my partisanship on the playground (where it belongs).
Oh, bah. Nothing like a good flame war to start some banter.

EA was a real snoozer for me. Battlefront was unimpressive, same for NFS Payback. And Galaxy of Heroes? Who cares? Shareholders, probably, but when have they ever mattered? /s
Really, what was more disappointing was what they didn't show. I wanted to see more of Bioware's new thing, Anthem. We also saw nothing of Visceral's Star Wars project. I should really stop expecting anything from EA.

It's that time of the year again! The E3 conferences are right around the corner. What are you looking forward to or expecting this year? I've got bets on some CoD WWII footage, but beyond thay I've got nothing but some pie in the sky hopes for some Metroid, F-Zero and 2077 news.

On God of War as part of the HD collection right now. Just a couple hours in, and I think I'm already starting to get what the hubbub was all about. I've never really played character action before, and trying to chain attacks together and keep the counter up is exhilarating (even if I'm failing at it and nearly dying half the time). The level design constantly wrapping around itself is awe-inspiring- I keep having to readjust my mental image of the levels to get a grip with it. However, The music falls a bit flat so far- nothing bad, just generic orchestral stuff. It also suits the Ancient Greek Myth theme well enough. The other thing I don't get is Kratos. He's a jerk for seemingly no reason. I assume I'll learn why later on, but still, it's a little off-putting to play as someone whose actions (in-cutscene at any rate) I can't relate to and am even somewhat repulsed by.
