62 Completions in Total, but it's really 59 since I added the L4D2 campaigns I forgot to add previously with the exception of The Last Stand which was new at the time. I'm shocked how good of a month April was but then I realized I completed a bunch of short games. Anyways, I'm not going to list every single game but here are some notable ones:
Earth Defense Force 5: 5/10
By far the worst game in the series with loathsome idiotic brain dead characters who act like dumbasses in every single regard, an overlong campaign that lasts for WAY too long, defeating the purpose of an EDF game being about aliens to being about God or the Second Coming of Christ or some bullshit, barely improved graphics and and just the most shittiest voice acting even for EDF standards. A spit in the face to anyone who liked the previous games. God help us when EDF 6 comes out and lets hope it's not as much of a trainwreck.
Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest: 8/10
A childhood favorite I never beat but I went through it in February and had a great time with it. Yes it has problems. Although it's very easy it does have bullshit enemy RNG sometimes, the companion characters are just there because plot reasons and don't feel like actual people (well, maybe except Reuben, but that's because I like his armor so much) and your character is much weaker compared to NPCs who one shot everything and you have to hit them two times to kill them. However, the soundtrack is possibly the best ever conceived for a video game with banger tunes after banger tunes, charming graphics, quirky humor, simple yet fun battle mechanics, a few interesting boss fights and it's also a very easy game to 100%. I would recommend it to newcomers to RPGS or for someone who wants a more laid back game.
Doom Eternal: 10/10
Probably one of the top 10 FPS games I have ever played. A mammoth improvement over Doom 2016 which I find to be hugely overrated. The game does everything right. It pumps the difficulty and speed higher for a more faster bloodier and more fun FPS game, the quality of life improvements are huge, the level design is magnificent, graphics outstanding, glory kills WAY better than in the last game and the music is much better. The only fault I can give is that the game's story is way too much of a self parody of what Doom is and Doomguy speaking is the worst thing I probably heard all year besides every voice actor from EDF 5. Still, a huge achievement that sets a new standard for FPS Games to come.
Forza Motorsport 5: 6/10
The most time consuming game I played all year and unfortunately the most disappointing. As a launch title for Xbox One, it's extremely lacking in everything a Forza game needs to succeed. Lackluster content, redundant gameplay, graphics that are on par with the PS2 at points (Look at those crowds! JUST WHY!?), some things are just straight up broken like how the dirty laps work, DLC that is delisted meaning a huge amount of content is gone forever which is total bull crap. I was really sour that I spent nearly 100 hours in this game to complete every race. The only thing I can praise is that the Top Gear/Grand Tour hosts do amazing introductions to every car class, the usual great handling and really tough AI even on the default difficulty. At least we have Forza Motorsport 6 and 7 to rinse the nasty taste of this game out of our mouthes.

My second PS Vita game after EDF 2017 Portable and man this was a treat. I loved all the uses of the hardware and I thought this was one of the most innovative games of the 8th Generation of Consoles. The graphics have that arts and crafts style I adore in games, the story is light, funny and charming, the music is really good at points but the star is the Vita itself using all of it's features like Gyroscope, Touch Pads and Screen and Cameras. This game absolutely is a shining star and proof that the Vita is the best console I felt Playstation ever did.
Serious Sam 4: 10/10
My favorite game released this year, although not the best game I played all year surprisingly. The launch issues were apparent but Croteam was fast to patch most of the bugs so that's nice. Aside from the predictable story and atrocious 2 minute loading times, this is the best Serious Sam game yet. John J. Dick is always awesome as Sam again and the game brings out every aspect from every previous Sam game and puts it into one. Friendly AI and Vehicles from Serious Sam 2, The Reloading, Aiming Down Sights and Sprinting from BFE, the classic gameplay from TFE and TSE, all in this game and made perfectly. The characters are absolutely lovable aside from Sam, the side quests and upgrade system is a refreshing idea for the series that has been the same since TFE, and the game gave me a feeling that the events in this game make Serious Sam 3: BFE non canon although I'm a bit skeptical on my theory. Not perfect like TSE HD, but it's the best Sam game to come out in a long time. How will Croteam ever top this?!
Little Big Planet 2: 10/10
This is the best game I played all year. I was shocked that a game this perfect in the platforming genre could exist and Sony has made this the Creme De La Creme of all of their exclusive titles that has not been dethroned since. The characters are insanely lovable, the gameplay is a mammoth improvement over LBP 1 and PSP, the music is outstanding, the level design brilliant, the gadgets are also so much fun! It feels like a Disney Renaissance film and if they could make a movie out of this specific game I would go and see it Day One. I was left speechless after finishing it and I immediately started it again with my sister who hadn't played it and she adored it as well. Larry Da Vinci, Clive Handforth, Victoria, Eve, Avalon and Sackboy will always be with me and this game has made think there is no way anyone now can top this. Near Perfect.
Journey: 10/10
The third game I have given an absolute perfect score to (meaning no cons) and it absolutely broke me. I wanted to cry after I finished it. I know it's up to interpretation about what this game is about. But in my eyes, it's about the timeline of lovers who end up meeting and then die together and go to the afterlife. I am absolutely stunned by this game and it proves games are an art form. I loved ABZU, but this is on a whole nother level of masterful. I highly recommend for everyone to play this once. Even if you don't feel anything, just try it. The most soul crushing game and saddest game I have ever played.
Astro's Playroom: 9/10
An amazing launch game for PS5 and a pack in game as well which is really rare nowadays. It showcases the hardware so well and the Dualsense will make you never satisfied with any other controller ever again. Once you hit those adaptive triggers, you'll be wanting PS5 day and night. The graphics are bright and colorful and the music is also fun since it reminds me of Muse's song Starlight. The gameplay is simple and although the combat is really lacking the stuff you do in the game is wonderful. A great celebration of Playstation as a whole. I hope Sony continues to go this route for this console generation because if there is more games like this it might become my favorite Playstation console ever.
Left 4 Dead 2 (The Last Stand Update): 7/10
A fun update that brings the survivors from the original game into a new two map campaign. This was a lot of fun to be honest and although I was underwhelmed at first this has become the most realized DLC campaign the series has ever had. The lack of banter was disappointing since I thought they added more to it but the level design more than makes up for it even though it ends in another annoying scavenge hunt for gas cans which I hate. Play it a few more times if you're not into it and you'll probably enjoy it way more. It's a great little mini campaign and it does more things right than any of the DLC campaigns (including Cold Stream) combined.

I racked up 27 completions this year, which is about average for me. The best was Persona 5 Royal. The worst... was possibly a tie between Mega Man X6 and X7. Also, October was my best month ever for completions, with a grand total of SIX. Which is nothing compared to most everyone else here. 😭

Biggest changes for me gaming-wise in 2020:
- I bought a gaming PC,
- I learned that Steam sales are way harder to resist than PS4 sales,
- I bought too many games and build up too big a backlog (although that's partly Epic's "fault" for giving away so many games),
- I played my first games on Linux (and was surprised how great that works thanks to Steam/Proton - so far the only game that would not work for me on Linux is Battletech [weirdly, because this one actually was released for Linux]), and
- I am forever bitter that Sony deleted the wishlist functionality from the PS4 app (I can't see which games are on sale anymore and I have to keep a wishlist some other place. Since the change I've only bought one PS4 game).

So according to the site I have finished 26 games this year (or 31 if I count the visual novels that I didn't add to my HLTB list, and I would only count them because they contributed a significant amount to my gaming time). Honestly, it feels like I've exclusively played long games this year. Even with that though, compared to previous years (2019-49, 2018-40, 2017-44) this is quite a drop in the number of completions. Thing is, I started working. I've finished university in the summer of 2019 and started working in September and also had quite a tough time adjusting at beginning of this year. Then came covid which further complicated things with adverse effects to my free time. Add all of this together and I really had a lot less time to play this year. Though to be honest, I'm not altogether unhappy about my gaming time. I didn't actually felt that much less, and I still had a good time for the most part. Though this virus thing could really end already.

I liked 2020, it was personally a great year for me. I'll miss you! Unfortunately, I only beat 52 games, down from 68 last year. Still, I played a lot of good ones (including PS4, Vita and Wii U games), and few bad ones, so I'm happy :)

2020: The Pandemic Made Me Stay Inside and Play Games
I beat 43 games, more than any year by far since 2013. Average time to beat: 13h 15m. Total time recorded: 17d 2h 51m. That's 4.7% of the year, or a little over an hour a day. I retired another 15, marked with an R below, which adds a few days of playtime (cough cough Xenoblade Chronicles X). Bolded games are top picks, with my absolute favorites of the year being also underlined.
At this time last year, my backlog was at 63 games and 61 days. Looks like I've made some Pandemic Progress; it is now at 53 games and 48 days. This year I would like to approximate this pace, with a goal of clearing out my backlog somewhere, whether it's Steam, Twitch, PS4, Epic or whatever, just get one of them empty. I would also like to not increase my backlog. 53 games is daunting and my wishlist has even more than that!

The last 2 years have been light for me, I was lucky enough that threw all the things going on and lockdowns that neither of my jobs stopped.
This year..I only completed 4 titles, though I played a lot of multiplayer games that have no real endings, like gunfire reborn, pubg, warzone, everquest..etc...
A lot of time in Ark playing through every map, and doing 100% on each one, not sure how I will count that one yet....

Oddly enough 2020 was good year, at least for me personally. I've got 49 completions down this year, technically 48 since 1 is a DLC. I had a goal I made in 2019 to finish a massive amount of games on my backlog the next near, and I joined this site to help with that.
