Good game overall. 8/10 (DLC)
The Indigo Disk is a strong follow-up to The Teal Mask, offering a unique setting at a new school and a fresh batch of Pokémon to discover. The story delves into more complex themes, and the new environment, along with the addition of the Pokémon Terrapagos, adds plenty of excitement. While some of the pacing feels uneven and the plot doesn’t always captivate, the expansion is a highlight in the lackluster ninth generation with its engaging gameplay and new content.

Similar to the previous DLC, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet – The Indigo Disk is a fun little addition, but you shouldn't expect too much from it. More than half of the main story involves defeating another Elite Four, and even though it’s challenging and fun, it’s very similar to what happens at the end of the main game. You can also revisit Area Zero at the end, which was one of the highlights of the main game—a definite plus. However, the DLC doesn't offer much overall.
I grew somewhat fond of the new DLC characters, and I appreciated that completing it unlocks a free epilogue episode, "Mochi Mayhem," where characters from the main story return. It was a fun little addition, but I couldn't bring myself to care much beyond the main story. While it might excite some players more, for me, it was just a great excuse to enjoy Scarlet and Violet again—nothing more.

Pros:
+ Double battles are the focus & my FAVORITE style which means my eyes finally stopped glazing over while playing this game
+ Some actually tough fights (still dog walked 90% of them tho)
+ UNOVA FOCUS!! Descendants of characters, remixed music, future game tease?
+ Area Zero depths + Terapagos setpiece was great
+ Drayton trial is annoying at first, but ended up being fun to build a random optimized team for challenge

Cons:
- Performance is not as bad as the Teal Mask but it’s still inexcusable trash
- Disgustingly grindy with BP, never attempt to fully complete this DLC
- Put out $35 DLC on top of a buggy & broken $60 mess before fixing it. Modern GameFreak is a goddamn joke

I honestly had a blast playing through the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet! All of the callbacks to Pokemon Black and White made me happy. The Terrarium’s biomes felt lush and lively, so I had an exciting time exploring them. Since it’s endgame content, I appreciated the higher difficulty from double battles. The new Elite Four members were pretty interesting. I liked their designs and personalities. This DLC nicely wraps up the story from the base game and the Teal Mask DLC. It was really fun and exciting, especially the climax! Seeing Kieran grow as a character was super heartwarming. I also recommended playing through the Mochi Mayhem epilogue! Seeing all my friends come together for a wholesome adventure was really fun! There’s also a ton of incredible features, like becoming your Pokemon or getting the ability to fly. I’m just a huge fan of the story, characters, and content. The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero cements Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as my favorite Pokemon games!

Honestly, felt like a step down from DLC 1. I like all the little extras they added and the theming, but overall I kind of wanted to get this over with. I wasn't hooked like DLC 1 or even the base game. I will say, I like the added challenge. They realized this is late game so they can step it up. If you want something a bit more from Pokemon difficulty, this is the DLC for you. Besides that, I can't think of anything really stand out from the main campaign. It really is just more Scarlet and Violet with some neat bonuses here and there. Perhaps I'll come back and re-evaluate this as time passes. Currently though, it's just a little bit above average.

While I thought the base was pretty lackluster I think the second part of the DLC not only addresses most of its flaws but I feel it's a good improvement.

I'm not ranking this higher as I feel that this was supposed to be the whole experience we were supposed to get from the beginning. With this insight, I can understand why the finished base game was barely a functioning game. The DLC may patch and improve issues but it does not patch the void left by the initial game.

This is pretty great content with a story that fares better than the base game does. Visually and sonically it strives to be more than the base game and first half of the DLC and it achieves that.

It's a good expansion for a lacking game.

The brother character is just the worst he's super annoying and unlike able and 100 times worst then he was in the first dlc funnily the character they say is just the worst is actually pretty like able and the best character in the dlc and one of the best characters in all of pokemon, not really sure why the game tries to make you not like him for he's pretty cool in my books even if he does look like someone id never hang out with in real life. Overall the dlc is pretty good aside from the end mainly due to the brother character and also that teacher sucks too.

The best pokemon experience in years, and the most fun I've probably ever had with a Pokemon game. Kieran is the best rival we've ever gotten, the battles are the perfect difficulty, and the climax is pretty hype, if not quite as good as the base game. It's relatively short but everything in it is incredible. This alone probably carries ScaVio to the title of the best Pokemon Game

I found the battles against the Elite four challenging and fun. Running around the biosphere is good at times, the random tasks give you some purpose. But the game is still janky and so soulless seriously everything just feels a bit dull

Pretty lackluster DLC.

The only positive is the battles in this DLC are challenging. All of the AI actually know what they are doing, all battles are double battles, and the pokemon have strategies and work off of each other. Challenging is good and fun!

The story is very bare-bones compared to the first one. The new characters are okay at best, the old characters are slightly more tolerable, but overall the total amount of added playtime is only a couple hours. They extend it by making you do "blue berry quests" aka BBQs. but there are only like 5 different ones. They make you do them 100+ times to get everything you can get and it is a true mundane boring grind to do the same 5 things over and over and over 100+ times. They aren't even fun. It's just "catch a rock type", "take a pic of a water type", "sneak up on a pokemon to battle it" over and over. So boring.

Again, they only add like 5 truly new pokemon, the rest are things that should have always been in the game, and still you can't get every Pokemon.

They add some quality of life things, but only after you finish the DLC and have nothing else to do in the game. They should have been added when there's actually things to do!

There are still many many bugs, and this DLC is so much worse than even the previous one. Many times my screen randomly froze due to frame drops and you'd get glitches of pokemon stuck in mountains or running into them for eternity.

Pokemon has become a pure cash grab made with no passion or fun. I hate it and it makes me sad.

The Indigo Disk really brings Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's post-game content home— a truly stellar collection of content bringing a whole new area that begs for exploration, lots of fun new characters, easily the most difficult challenges the series has had in years that forces players to actually plan and strategize through multiple failures before achieving victory, and— most of all— puts such a sweet bow on the story established in The Teal Mask— yeah there are still the expected bugs inherent in these games and it doesn't quite feel like it answers all of the potential questions we've had about how deep this crater really goes (excited for the upcoming Epilogue)— but it absolutely enriches the base game and makes it feel all the more complete!

I actually enjoyed the flow of this game more than I expected to. It was more similar to mainline story games as the flow was to mainly defeat the elite four members, the champion, and then the final legendary pokemon. I also enjoyed the story a lot that it built on the first half of the DLC as well as previous pokemon lore (the Unova region). My biggest problem was that there was a big difficulty curve in comparison to the main game. All of the opposing team's pokemon were high level and used advanced strategies including synergized team combinations as well as held items. I was not prepared for this advanced level of play and thought I could get by just catching random wild pokemon. I ended up having to cheese most of my way through most battles again using items. While that was interesting in its own way, I think I would have had funner having an adequately assembled team. The final boss practically needed a team of lvl 100 pokemon, which is great from an end game content stand point, I just wasn't expecting or ready for it. Overall, I think it was the first Pokemon DLC that left me on an overall positive note.

Very unique and interesting new location, very cool story that ties in with the base game very nicely, new interactions which add depth to all NPCs and gives you rewards, more enjoyable battling due to double battles being the standard in this area and every trainer having a level 80+ competent team, and the pokemon this DLC adds are great. Unofrtunately though, all 20+ legends added are shiny locked, and there's a lot of grinding, lots of which is required to be done in multiplayer.

Also, the item machine you add to the club room absolutely spoils you once it's upgraded, which is a really nice thing to add to end of the game.

A fun follow-up DLC with an entertaining resolution to the story & good carry-over of characters + themes from the prior DLC in Kitakami. Yet again, the addition of a new Pokédex & the nostalgic return of all the prior-gen starters made this very satisfying to work through.

Significantly better than the Teal Mask. Blueberry Academy is fun to explore with its biomes. The story is much better and all the late game content and post game content gets you the ability to basically catch every starter and legendary in Pokemon history along with some new ones and paradox pokemons. What’s unfortunate is that this dlc is still tied to a poorly put together lifeless attempt at an open world pokemon game

This was shorter than I thought it would be. When I got to the new area I took some time to shiny hunt some outbreaks and hunt down around 150 of the Pokémon from the new Dex the rest like the starters and trade evolution mons I brought over to save time and some headache. I also built a doubles team with perfect IVs EVs and maxed them all to level 100. The new area itself is pretty neat splitting it up into four sections gave a lot of varity to them things you can encounter and there were some throwback areas like charge stone cave which was neat. When I started the story I just focused it and was surprised how quickly it went. There were maybe 12 mandatory battles 5 being the elite four and the champion. I think they had cool team and it would have been more of a challenge had I not made a cracked team to handle everything. The trials before the batter were okay, just pretty basic. New Characters were fine. Getting to be able to fly was cool but it is a bit late to get it with everything already done (reminds me of getting the motorbike in BOTW). The rest of the story outside of new Academy was alright, wondering what else will be showed in the epilogue that comes out in January. I think all the other things they added are good for players who don't have everything like myself. My huge gripe with this would be that two of the legendries are version exclusive and you have to purchase the DLC for both copies. I will hold my ground and hope that they release them in some raids later on. I will be upset if they do not. Previous games let you have the DLC on both copies when you pay for it. Find it annoying that if you want them all you are expected to get both version and then get the same DLC twice (especially when the price was $35 this time).

Meh, DLC for the purpose of DLC. Only 9 or so mandatory battles, the rest is just exploring. The Pokedex is annoying because of the 240 Pokemon, only 163 are normal Pokemon. The rest are starter Pokemon, which are locked behind grindy and annoying fetch quests.

To 100% this DLC you have to do hundreds of fetch quests (take a photo of a Pokemon in -- Biome, sneak up on a Pokemon, defeat 10 Pokemon from auto battles, etc).

Overall, pretty boring and not the direction Pokemon should go in.

On the bright side, the legendaries are pretty cool. Entei & Cobalion specifically look cool.

Gameplay - (80%) - Almost all of the major battles in this DLC are double battles with competitive-level movesets and strategies, which is pretty cool. The Blueberry Academy and the Terrarium are fun to explore and have lots of new features & returning Mons as well. A much higher percentage of the content in this DLC is stuff you will probably want to engage with in comparison to DLC 1, which was filled with a lot of fluff IMO.

Visuals - (30%) - Same issues as DLC 1. Still looks and runs terrible most of the time. The state that DLC 1 was in made me very confident that the visual/performance issues of Scarlet and Violet were not going to be fixed, but now that the final content for this game has been released, I am almost 100% certain that it will continue to run like garbage for the rest of time, with the unlikely but possible exception of them releasing an upgrade for the inevitable Switch 2.

Story - (55%) - The story for this DLC is a continuation of where DLC 1 left off, albeit in a new location. Again, nothing groundbreaking and not as good as the main game, but overall I found it more interesting than DLC 1. Doesn't really give a good answer to the whole story about Area Zero & Terastilization though, which weighs my overall opinion about it back down to being not much better than the first DLC.

Price - ($29.99** USD) - Again, you can't buy The Indigo Disk separately from The Teal Mask, so you have to keep that in mind when thinking about the price. I think for people who plan on continuing to play Scarlet & Violet for a while after completing the DLC, that it is worth it to buy it. There's a lot of good content, particularly in The Indigo Disk. However, a lot of the side stuff is only really useful if you plan on playing the game more in the future, such as the customization options, returning Pokemon & legendaries, new ways to get rare items, etc. If you're just gonna run the main questlines and put it down, then you may wanna pass.

Overall - (75%) - The Indigo Disk thankfully allows Scarlet and Violet's DLC package to end on a good note. Again, these are more-so for people who are gonna continue to actively play these games until the next Pokemon title releases in 2024. If you're one of them, then there's a lot here that you'll get out of it. If you aren't, then I wouldn't say it's a bad time or necessarily not worth the money, but you may want to just wait another year for a new experience all-together.

Overall for both DLCs - (60%)

soundtrack was neat, but there was next to nothing new, just one song that gets remixed for the 4 different areas, some little sounds on specific areas, but overall very lackluster. the new character are neat, but are not given nearly enough time to get to know them. and the story was so much nothing for the most part, that it was quite frankly not worth spending a cent on, let alone 17.50$. I love pokemon and the new format they have has so much great potential, but their constant rushing and lack of care, by the company (not the developers) turns this potential, into garbage. TBH the only reason why my review scores are that high is because I have a bias towards pokemon and can be easily satisfied, when it comes to this franchise, but yeah this one was so bad, that i couldn't even consider it okay or decent. Really disappointed, but oh well maybe the Pokemon Company will try to redeem itself someday.
