Die W10 Version hat leider ein paar Stolpersteinen. Abstürze u nicht startendes Spiel. Aber es war für mich das coolste GoW seit Teil1.

Frantic and gory, just like you would expect from Gears of War, where the writing and characters are not exactly the main focus but the gunplay and violence.I found the story to be onpar with bad Marvel/DC movies, same goes for how the dialogue is handled. The ending is very abrupt and smells like cliffhanger.
Though the gameplay is fun and that's the only reason to really play it, co-op is a must.

After playing through Gears 1,2,3, and Judgement, I hold this series to a pretty high standard because of how amazing all of the games have been so far. For Gears of War 4, this game delivers the goods in terms of being another high quality, fun, and memorable cooperative third person shooter. It tries some new things that I think are successful, adding new weapons like the dropshot and the ability to yank enemies over cover. It also messes some stuff up too. I thought the story was really boring (I mean no one is expecting an insanely good story from GoW but this one was not very good IMO), and I felt as if the cover mechanics were changed in a way that allowed me to get shot even when I was in cover and the enemy didn't have a line of sight on me, which was sometimes frustrating.Don't get me wrong, it is worth playing through this game if you are a fan of the others. But personally I feel like something was missing, maybe it was a little soul that was gone or something. I missed the cheesy one liners you got from playing Marcus, Cole, Dom, and Baird. The new cast is just okay.

Solo insane difficulty. Good gears, nice story, epic moment on new vehicules. Huge difficulty spikes. Big enemies are fun first time but then just after you get 2 or 3… get old pretty fast. Too abd because it could have been one of the best episode.Updated 5.5 Months Ago

I love this series and I especially adore the original, but I never felt like any of the sequels were able to really recapture the magic of the first one, until now. Gears 1 was special because it wasn't just action, it had tension and atmosphere and even leaned a little into horror from time to time, but every Gears games since has been just balls to the wall craziness. That isn't necessarily bad but the pacing was exhausting and a little bit vanilla - Now finally this 4th entry has regained some of that subtlety and restraint that helped to make the series so amazing. There's plenty of action and some of the setpieces are wild, but in between there are moments of ominous silence, environments oozing with tension, and a couple straight up horror moments. The plot's always been just kinda meh for me personally, but the jump in graphical performance and sound design further heightens the tone and really makes some of the storytelling memorable. My only true complaint is the cover system, even in this newer installment the game never understands when you want to run and when you want to hide because it's the same freaking button. But that's a very minor nitpick, and overall I was so impressed that I almost liked this 4th entry as much as the first game, but not quite.Updated 6 Months Ago

I knew there was a significant timeskip for Gears of War 4's campaign so I wasn't particularly sure what to expect. The new cast of characters is... fine. They're not great, but my first impression during Act 1 wasn't good. No surprise, the game gets significantly better with Marcus in the squad. The times where Marcus isn't around show some clear holes in the writing. Having JD, Del, and Kait all be somewhere in between serious and quirky just doesn't land, and their banter's writing feels weak. Just like the original Gears trilogy, having Marcus as this more serious character with great one-liners is almost like an anchor for the dialogue between squadmates, and its why the cast of characters from the first three games was so beloved. It is very noticeable that this squad needs someone serious around to reign everyone in whenever Marcus isn't around. You could argue that this is because JD, Del and Kait are young, and that's totally fair, but that doesn't excuse the fact that they don't land as being likable enough in their first outing.Gears 4 is held up by still having that damn good, silky smooth, fun as hell, whatever term you wanna use for it - third-person shooting gameplay. Nobody does it better than Gears when it comes to being a third-person shooter, and Gears 4 is no different. The defense segments are a fun little addition, and the mech segment at the end was fun too, although I tend to prefer the game ending with a boots on the ground segment preferably.
Maybe it's because of my gripes with the new characters as stated above, but this game feels like it's really missing something that the Marcus trilogy had and I can't really put my finger on it if I'm honest. My hunch is that I liked Gears more when it depicted you being in the midst of a war. I guess in many ways, it mirrors Halo. Halo 1-3, along with Reach, are very well-liked with all of them being in the midst of intense war with the Covenant. 4 and 5 are missing a little something as they attempt to get more plot-focused and establish new things, while tying up old threads. Similarly, Gears 4 tries to bring in the new by having the old still around and it doesn't 100% work. It does work to an extent since I enjoyed the game gameplay-wise, but it lacks a little bit of the magic that made Gears 1-3 so damn legendary.
Great game nonetheless, though, and I can't complain about the gameplay at all. I'll mention the pacing being a little weird though. It feels like the game was meant to have another Act or a few more levels. Saving Marcus feels way too close to the end of the game for instance when you really think about it. Maybe that's just me.

I like the new equipments and gameplay but the story is nothing new. It's a basic story, nearly the same as the previous campaigns and there are things that didn't get explained. Pretty much a setup for Gears 5 story-line. The enemies are still the Locusts but upgraded. I did want a new type of enemies.Updated 8.5 Months Ago

Pluses:• Runs a lot smoother than Gears of War Ultimate Edition, providing stable 120+ FPS where ultimate edition did only 50-60;
• Combat somehow feels more dynamic and alive even if most mechanics stays the same;
• I really enjoyed dialogues and the whole story this time;
• Great comebacks of some known heroes;
• Revenge against big dudes via piloting giant mech in act V? Hell yeah!
• Overall colors and brightness of the game feels very great for me;
• Good lenght, not short, not too long;
• Nice pace of some action episodes, always felt so engaged.
• Better variety of enemies then in first game (previous one if count only PC versions);
Minuses:
• Had few strange lags where I could not move free after been knocked down while holding heavy weapon;
• Snatchers - it is really pain somewhere below my back, hate them;
• Some checkpoint felt not so good placed;
• Few combats felt pretty BS due to some weapons enemies had.
Overall: Awesome sequel (3rd one :D) for franchise!

Updated 1.5 Years Ago

Completed on Hardcore with a friend, a fun co-op third person shooter, but it doesn't really live up to the original three games that came before it. Amazing. Beautiful graphics, and epic map designs. Enjoyed the humorous banter between characters - kept things light hearted and not so serious. Likeable characters. Satisfying BAMFY gameplay. Varied missions and mechanics kept things interesting, and game didn't outstay it's welcome. Hilarious lines "It'll hold, it'll hold, IT'LL HOLD... SHIIIIIT!" Loved having team mates throughout the entire campaign, which made parts of the middle horror sections especially fun. Played with Elite controller and loved the Impulse Trigger Rumble.Updated 2 Years Ago

I would give this a 7.5. This was my first Gears of Wars in many many years, I only played the first one and barely remembered. I liked how the tone was set for new fans, with great new characters and a new engaging story. I liked the post-post apocalypse setting and the more colorful tone in contrast to the old GoWs. The gameplay is insanely fun but is not taking risks here, very by-the-basics, just like the story is also merely presenting the characters and the threat, but nothing major yet, clearly setting up stuff for Gears 5 (which I'm looking forward to play now). It was a short but very promising first step on this new world for me, let's see how they do in 5 now.Updated 2 Years Ago

I haven't played the first trilogy, but the new Gears-games reminds me alot of Uncharted. The setting is (in my opinion) a bit more interesting and the battles are more fun. The campaign feels like one long, intense mission, which I liked. I rather not spend 20 hours on a campaign like this, 8-10 hours seems about perfect. Some of the characters felt a bit generic, but that's okay. I liked Kait the most, and the older Marcus Fenix. I felt like there was something off with the aim though, when I got out of cover I almost always where shooting beside the enemy and had to readjust. I'm no expert on cover based shooters, so it could be just me being bad at it.Updated 2 Years Ago

I wasn't sure what to think about this soft reboot of the series. Most of the characters were different and the DBs as an enemy felt a little odd for Gears of War but I still liked it. I liked the good style of banter, the fun wind flares, different enemy types with the Swarm, the fun levels, and the direction the story took.Updated 2.5 Years Ago

A must have for fans of GoW series. I personally don't mind secondary aspects of the previous parts. Nice cinematic story, good shooting model, interesting characters. Gears 4 can be brought down to one questions. Where is Marcus Phoenix.
Chapter 1: Where is he?
Chapter 2: Where is he going?
Chapter 3: Where did he go?
Chapter 4: Where are we going with him?
Chapter 5: Where? What? Marucs?
It feels like they did not try to make a new gears game it is as if they wanted to make a story from someone elses perspective about Marcus Pheniox. The ending is about a character that was with you the entire time and was very meh. I also thought "Really that is? Feels like there should be more"
Overall if Gears 1 was a holy shit this is cool but like a little old game problems.
This was where is the joy? Where is the fun? It was overall fine. If you enjoy gears it is more of the same with a few new weapons and sections but over all it was pretty meh. 5/10

Very fun and creative in the first half but slows down A LOT in the second half. I feels like the game was fighting to reach that 8-10 hour playtime. While the story is fine the writing is bland and the ending is pretty anticlimactic. The ending feels like it's supposed to be very emotional but something makes it feel very bland. The last half did that thing that so many games do where they make every situation that should take a short amount of time into 5-10 little things that get in the way, making a 10-15 minute section into a 30+ one. This could have been a phenomenal campaign experience, and granted the first half was, but the last half was so unfun that it makes me regret finishing it. The multiplayer for this title is mostly dead, so while this could've been a game that I mostly play for the multiplayer, I'm probably not coming back to this for a while. Overall, this was worth the 8 bucks I paid for it, I would recommend looking at other similar options or other games in the series.Updated 2.5 Years Ago
