Just finished Breath of the Wild. Overall, it falls into the same trap as every single other sandbox / huge open world game that I've played, and that is that there is merely the illusion of depth. There's no real progression or depth to the game beyond the sheer volume of space and activities. It's the main reason why I don't play games from this genre. I'm a bit saddened that they took this approach with Zelda, but I also realize that given the modern gaming market, if they had not, this game would have flopped, and as a result the Switch would have. Hopefully the next one at least includes something resembling the intricate puzzle design of previous Zelda games, and unique boss battles.

Playing Inside. I really dislike it so it's taking me months to beat. Sigh.

Yoshi's New Island probably isn't the best representation of the series.

I sure hope not. Just tried it out for a little while and I didn't find it to be much fun, so I'm swapping in the Megaman Legacy Collection for my main 3DS pick. I'll have to try the original Island at some point and see if that's better.

I actually preferred Ico to SotC.

I'm surprised. Maybe it's just my circle of friends, but most of the people I know seem to prefer Shadow.

Loved Ico. Hated SotC.

Just finished the new Doom. Definitely my game of the year for 2016 so far, and will be hard to beat.

Freedom Planet is my second favorite game of 2015, so yes, it's good. Awesome boss battles.

Playing Metal Gear Solid V. It always completely confuses me how these games get such high praise, but it's alright.

Beat Sonic Colors yesterday. I was really excited to play it since I like Sonic more than most people seem to, and a lot of people liked this one, but it wasn't one of my favorites. The level design seemed pretty lazy, but it was still fun.

I might take part in this one since I have this again on Wii U.

^ I can't wait to play Dragon Quest Heroes. I'm not a big fan of the DQ IP, but I'm such a sucker for Koei's Warriors-style games.

I had a flash of my former self yesterday and finished three games: Boxboy, Resident Evil Revelations 2, and Yokai Watch. A lot of the features in YKW need some touching up, but the boss battles are some of the funnest I've ever played in an RPG. That's where the game truly shines.

I just bought a Playstation 4, but we are saving it until Christmas to open it, so I plan on clearing up my current gen backlog to make way for some PS4 exclusives that I missed out on come early 2016. I'm also going to attempt to get 100,000 gamerscore on my Xbox gamertag. I'm nearly at 96,000, so it's somewhat realistic (when you ignore the fact that I've gotten maybe 2,000 points in the last year).
