That first one has caught my interest. It sounds like it has an interesting story in it. Thanks for the suggestion and I hope you enjoy ‘Killer Frequency’ when you get around to it.

I have heard of it, but been putting off on getting it as I didn’t know much on it. I’ll look at a review of it to check more on it. Thanks for the suggestion.

I looked it up. It’s only on PC and I don’t currently have a working PC, but I’ll add it to my wishlist for when I eventually do. Thanks for the suggestion.

Assassin’s Creed for me. I tried it when the first two games was still only a thing. I couldn’t even get halfway through. It was repetitive and I kept getting lost. The controls when climbing annoyed me too 😓 I do want to retry it so reevaluate my opinion on it but I don’t know how much it’ll change

I just finished ‘Killer Frequency’ and I have to say that it was quite good. So, I’m trying to look for more games in that specific genre - Horror-Adventure but also a bit of Murder Mystery. Just the feeling of solving a mystery while a murderer is out there is so interesting and I eat those types of stories in games or any media up 😅

If anyone can suggest a game like this, please, give me the title and I’ll look into it. Thanks

I mean by has anyone ever wanted to go back and play games from older consoles especially games that are stuck on older consoles? Games that look like they are never going to get ported. I felt like doing that recently.

I got overwhelmed by the sheer amount of digital games I have recently and decided to go back to one of my older consoles and playing through ‘Thrillville: Off the Rails’ has been so nostalgic. I’ve been even checking out secondhand stores for games I never got to check out like ‘Psychonauts’ and ‘Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc’. I haven’t gotten around to replaying some of my older games yet, but the ones I’ve already started really bring memories back.

What about all of you?

I think almost everyone has heard about what happened with Unity recently. How they were planning to make the developers pay for the installs of their own games then backpedaled on it because of backlash but there’s still no definitive answer if their still going through with it next year. So, a lot of developers will probably switch to another engine now that there’s distrust between developers and Unity. And devs will probably delete their games too like the devs of ‘Cult of the Lamb’ said they’d do.

So, I’m wondering is anyone planning to make any last ditch buys on Unity engine games before or IF this goes through. I haven’t gotten ‘Cult of the Lamb’ yet so I’m definitely getting that now 😅

I don’t like quitting on games, but I’ll usually take breaks and that’s usually because I’m overwhelmed. That’s usually from open-world games because the amount of side quests, collectables, exploration in them compared to the main story gets a bit jarring most times that I just need a breather from the game and look at one that’s short in length story wise or a relaxing game. Until I’m able to come back that is.

I don’t remember. It’s probably ‘Angels of Death’ or ‘Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc’ around either late 2018 or early 2019, but I can’t remember which it was. Probably the first one though. I don’t have a working PC right now to play my steam games right now, sadly 🥲

Best

Sonic Frontiers:- The story and gameplay were similar to what you usually see in a Sonic game, but it was the fact you could free roam around to your next objective that really got me. It reminded me of the hub towns in Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Adventure and I loved that about it. The soundtrack was also fire.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge:- A fun beat-em-up that you can play alone, co-op or online and I like that it gives you all all those options along with playing as each of the turtles and how they have their own fighting styles. Mikey just clicked with me.

Not Worst Just Meh

AI: Somnium Files: Nirvana Initiative:- I loved the first game where you didn’t know who the serial killer was it drops a huge twist on you near the end of the game while dropping clues through tree branch system. I liked that. However this game made that so much more convoluted by making the tree branch system instead be alternative endings, but a past and future side. If I replayed the game I’d probably get it, but I understood the first game’s confusing story the first time without needing a replay. Why should this one need one too?

Those are all the games I’ve pretty much completed this year. I did replay a few like the Danganronpa games, but replays don’t really count to me.

If I really like a game I’ll do some of the extra stuff like collecting costumes or doing side quests. But if it’s a game where I feel the story is a drag to go through and I just wanna finish it then I won’t 100%. It’s very rare I do it, but most of the time I just do extras.

I currently have 74 games in my backlog. It doesn’t help that whenever I get a new game I like to play that for a while until it’s either finished or I’m bored of it. But at the moment I’m trying to go back to some of my backlog to complete some of them. My main issue is I have no working PC to get to my Steam games right now😭 so I can only play my console games😓

I see myself as someone who enjoys multiple game genre, but there are a few that I won’t ever try. I might in the future if the game premise sounds interesting, but that’s about it.

Multiplayer - If it’s got no single player mode and mainly online I won’t touch it. I’ve wanted to try online games, but only if they’re an option.
Rhythm Games - I don’t mind if there’s a small mini game of one in a game but playing a full one. Nope.
Simulation Games - I love the Sims series, but all these simulation games are nuts. I might be able to play some but not ones like Simulation Tractor or whatever.
Card Games - The Art is always really nice in them, but they make the rules way too confusing and it’s a huge turn off.
Sport Games - If I don’t really like playing real sport why would I wanna play it with a controller? Though I don’t mind real cricket and basketball and the Quidditch parts in the Harry Potter Games are fun.
Horror Games - I may like dark theme and humour every once in a while, but I don’t like being scared to the point I can’t sleep at night. No thanks.

I haven’t played it yet but Puppeteer looks really cool. Also maybe Persona 3 since Golden is the only Persona game that ATLUS has bothered porting right now. I don’t have a VITA or PSP so I can’t try the original two, sadly. Maybe the three Rayman games that Ubisoft likes to forget exist too. Also any DLCs you really want as well.

I agree. I could play a game that has terrible graphics by today’s standards ie. Thrillville: Off The Rails or the Sonic Adventure games but if the story and gameplay still holds up well I’ll play it. It’s also the fact that I have to be in the right mood for a certain genre. Some days I might play a platformer, others a shooter or an open-world game. If I just bought a newly released game I’ll obviously play that first thing😂

SEGA Master System: The Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (I’ve since sold that system, sadly, since I didn’t play it a lot after I got my PS2)
Xbox: The Simpsons: Hit & Run
PlayStation 2: Thrillville: Off The Rails
PlayStation 3: Persona 5
Nintendo DS: Pokémon Diamond
Nintendo Wii: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Nintendo 3DS: It’s either Majora’s Mask or PersonaQ (1 or 2 they’re both really good)
Nintendo Switch: It’s between Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition

I haven’t spoiled myself on a lot of games (thankfully) since I like to avoid spoilers, but there’s really only two I think:

1. Red Dead Redemption - because I watched a Watchmojo video that revealed John Marsten’s death

2. Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc - I watched the Anime as I didn’t know where to play the game then. Not really spoiling myself since I only watched an adaptation, but playing the game is more enjoyable and fulfilling

It would have to be the Easter Egg from Danganronpa of Conan Edogawa’s bow tie from Detective Conan. It gave me a good laugh when I first saw it.

(I would upload an image if I knew how to do that on here)

That can happen sometimes. A game can feel better or easier on PC than on console, but it can also be the other way around too. I have a lot of 2D and retro-style games on my PC because it’s not a very powerful computer. Which is why my Switch is my go-to for those type of games that are ported from Steam to the Switch. Unless it’s a bad port then I’ll just wait till I get a better PC that can run better.

I used to have a SEGA Mega Drive when I was younger, but it wasn’t really mine it was my parents. The first game console I received on Christmas that was entirely mine was either my PlayStation 2 Slim or my Nintendo DS. I can’t remember which one though XD.

A lot of the times I don’t buy games twice, but I’ve done it three times and I’m about to do for a fourth.

My first was the PlayStation 2 version of Sonic Unleashed (Which I’ve completed) and when I found out you could free-roam in the PlayStation 3 version I got that one too🤷🏻‍♀️

Hollow Knight which I have on Steam and Switch. The reason is because it’s easier to control on Switch than on PC (because of the keyboard)

The Lego Harry Potter Collection on Wii and Switch is another

And I’m planning on getting Skyrim for my Switch while I also have it on my PlayStation 3

The Switch is just easier to turn on and it’s also portable, so I can see why people play it more than their consoles.

They should play how many they want, but also try not to overload themselves. I’m currently playing five games at the moment:-

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - A relaxing game I play to update my island every so often
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity - I’ve completed the main storyline, but I just want the Secret ending without cheating (also the side missions are fun)
Hades - Up to Styx
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition - Also near completion
And
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana - Just started two days ago

I go from game to game when I’m in the right mood of what I feel like playing. If I get a new game I’ll obviously play that and another game will be added to the list. But I think having 4-6 games is easier, especially if you’ve already/mostly completed most of two or more games and another is just a simulation game. I guess you just have to make sure you go back to the story driven games before you forget what happened in the story.
