I am really not new to this site (I reported 153 completions on this stie) nor new to how time to play varies wildly between players ... For example, it takes me x2 to x3 longer than the average times noted.
So I don't react in general, but I might comment when the time noted is practically impossible for technical reasons. If someone says they completed the main story in 14 hours, watching all the cutscenes (that in themselves total 10 hours or so), we know it is more than fishy. I saw similar cases with Battletech where players reported doing x missions faster than it is technically possible due to cutscenes and somewhat long animations between planets that could not be skipped, etc.
Do you get my point ? It is not about "Wow, some players are abnormally fast!" (like I said, speedruns are fine on this site). It is about how Veilguard has between 10 to 15+ hours of cutscenes (depending if you do companion quests), so the initial few times reported were misleading to say the least.

Well said. True.
In fact, 5 new times were noted hours after I wrote this, and they are more realistic.

When viewing the current playtimes reported for DA Veilguard, I think it is important to keep in mind that just the total cutscenes are over 15 hours long!
I say this based off a Youtube video showcasing nearly all the cutscenes, which includes *some* of the companion sidequests.
I presume the main story cutscenes, alone, are probably around 10 hours.
I am not a fan or supporter of that game, just felt the fact above had to be said considering that 6 users (out of 8 time scores) all claim they finished the main story in less than 15 hours (they were not speedruns, though admittedly "fast" and "rushed"). One even claims they did the main story without skipping any scenes in about 14 hours, though they logically had to view probably around 10 hours of cutscenes ... Not very credible.
On the other hand, the other 2 times recorded are 76 and 100 hours, by GamesRadar and IGN (whether or not we like or trust their reviews).
nb: I like this site and I am aware there is nothing that can be done about dubious times reported. And speedruns are fine and are usually noted as such. So the point or purpose is to note that a normal playtime of the main story in Veilguard, unless speedrunning or unless skipping cutscenes, cannot logically be less than 15 or so hours.

Just to say I submitted the new DLC of Solasta ...
Maybe I don't need to post about it here. Not sure.
I will fill in the details once it is approved like I did for the last DLC.
EDIT: OK, details have been filled in. Just missing the official image. Cheers

First, there are many things I appreciate about the improved design (2022), notably the profiles have an improved appearance to visitors, new options, etc.
The stats tab though is meaningless to me, or at least I do not understand it, and I cannot see stats that were accessible in the previous version.
Currently, I see a scale of 40 to 0 (?) and columns that increase by 1 per column; which I presume maybe are recent months (hard to say, one has to guess).
Previously, I could see games completed per year, for example, among many other ways of viewing the stats.
Now, selecting a year shows me only colored columns (I can hover to see a number), and therefore no total and no table comparing years. That is for Completions only. The two other filters are User Cataloged (not sure what that means) and Game Release Date.
EDIT: I just noticed I can see the total per year in the summary below. I was focused on the charts which lack indicators in my opinion.
Is it just a work-in-progress due to the recent changes ?
nb : just realized the title I used is wrongly worded. Sorry. Too late.

I noticed some reported their time for Bard's Tale 1 Remastered (BT1-R) alone, instead of time for the whole trilogy (which throws off the statistics).
I would personally like to record my times for each and then one for the total (for The Bard's Tale Trilogy, 2018).
Each could be added the way we add DLCs.
I know some will say each is not really a DLC, but on the other hand each remastered version was added in succession like a DLC to The Bard's Tale Trilogy remastered and released in 2018 by inXile.
What do you think ? Should we instead add separate games like The Bard's Tale 1 Remastered, Bard's Tale 2 Remastered ...? The advantage of the DLC logic is that all three will be included on the page for The Bard's Tale Trilogy.

Many completionist runs in 10 hours ...

I am playing with a guide, to help me find everything for this completionist run ... and I conclude it is not a fun way to play for me. It is not how I play normally: trying something new
Since I am half-way to getting almost all achievements, I will persist, but I would have enjoyed the game much more not trying to find everything and get all achievements.
Probably won't do that again. It's a bit like the difference between playing Borderlands for fun... and then trying to find every single hidden sign, etc.

All achievements is sometimes really insanely hard, requesting many playthroughs, but yeah I record in Completionist only when I am close to 100% of everything including achievements.
In the case of this game, even when using a guide, I easily miss an item and must redo a episode !

Very good points.
When I began using this site, I did not think completionist was all achievements, but rather all content, so that might explain why some mark completionist for doing every mission in a game...
Now I consider completionist really trying to get almost all achievements, which is my case for this game and it might take me a while due to autosaves, paths being blocked behind me, cut-scenes that lock me out of an area that had an item to find :P.

Many here claim to have done a completionist run in only 10 hours ... in their first playthrough.
There are 50 achievements and some take a while and you will you will have to restart an episode or two to get all achievements, even if you use a guide.
Paths behind are almost always locked, cut-scenes that stop you from picking up items, etc.
Oh, and cut-scenes cannot be skipped. Even if you add configuration codes to skip some cut-scenes, many remain unskippable.
I am just saying ...
nb : I do not believe, *at all*, that anyone gets 95%+ achievements in 10 hours on the first playthrough.

I tried again : I still do not see the DLC option when adding a new game.

OK, thank you.
I had not seen the DLC sub-category when submitting a "new game".
EDIT : And I was puzzled why no one had submitted that DLC among the others. Seems to me Shen is popular.

Greetiings,
I plan on playing the DLC Shen's Last Gift (for XCOM 2), only playing that DLC content with a past saved game, and was wondering how to a missing DLC on this site and if we should anyhow.
I am told it is mostly one single "long" mission, so maybe it is not worth noting it (?).
cheers

Yoops then.
I just created this one :

EDIT: I deleted it.
Ps : maybe the BG3 times should be locked-out until actual release.

The point is the BG3 title is currently listed on this site and two of us have noted our time for Act 1.
I could just update my time when I play the true complete game playthrough,
BUT some times will not be updated and that will clearly screw the statistics/results.
We will see times of 25 or so hours for BG3, when in reality it was just for Act 1.
So they can't both (Act 1 and full game) be on the same title over a year.
nb : but thanks for the input about creating a new "game". I am hoping the webmasters will tell us here what they think as I do not want to add a category they would not like.

Greetings,
I suggest that, on Howlongtobeat.com, the times be recorded into two different categories :
1) Baldur's Gate 3 - Act 1 (Early Access)
2) Baldur's Gate 3.
So this one here would be renamed "Baldur's Gate 3 - Act 1 (Early Access)".

With the pauses after a party member ends an ability, and other optional pauses, including pressing spacebar anytime, I find it is practically "turned based" although simultaneous.
My casters, for example, rarely lose a second as the game auto-pauses as soon as they finish casting their spell.
