It's turned into more of an adventure game than puzzle. The structures moving around the world were amazing to look at it. Plus a bigger focus on story. The sarcastic commentary did start getting old but still great writing. I actually prefer the puzzle approach to the first game where it was much more dense in its environments and gameplay. Plus cramming such a story in a couple hours was seriously impressive.

I think this is a bit better than the first but just a bit, honestly maybe I'm just dumb but once the portal gel is introduced I started to not enjoy the game as much because I feel the puzzles became much more annoying but still and good and fun puzzle game and fun writing that still holds up almost 15 years later

There are few gaming experiences that are this good from start to finish.

There is barely a single flaw that can be attributed to this game, some of the best and most satisfying puzzle design, even having some real brain teasers that can stump you for 15+ minutes.
The game is about 3-4x longer in the games length and in ideas then the previous entry which leads to more then 2/3 types of puzzles used and recycled.

The writing is amazing ontop of this, not only do you have some great comedic writing but you have some real sincere moments mixed between it that keeps you actively interested, aswell as laughing from start to finish.

The atmosphere is mesmerising, the prequel has a good atmosphere aswell but this takes that to the next level, leaving you stunned at the set pieces frequently even with the graphics of a 14 year old game.

This game is truly worthy of the title of perfection in every way, the only slight criticisms that could be summoned crumble under every other positive and overwhelmingly iconic thing this game has in its experience. Even playing and completing the game more times then I can count it never gets boring or tiring, truly a perfect game

Ohlalalalala mais Valve vous nous avez fait quoi là c'est dinguissime des années après sa sortie, non que dis-je c'est une révolution en termes de gameplay doux jésus que je me suis amusé sur ce jeu sur la partie solo vraiment c'est une pépite, un jeu confort en somme il est parfait.

Et pour la coop, même si c'est prise de tête par moments j'ai fait la coop, terminée avec Tux le 28/11/2017, puis Maxsheune le 20/07/2022, c'était vraiment vraiment cool big up aux maps modées

Portal 2 takes everything great with its prequel and cranks it up to 90, I've never played a puzzle game so captivating in its story and characters. The level designs are a joy to go trough, the voice acting is brilliant and the puzzles are some of the most engaging and rewarding levels you can get in gaming.

Puzzle games have always been my favorite type of game and there was simply no way I wouldn’t love Portal 2. The Portal series is one of my all time favorite and everything about it is great, I really have nothing to say but praises about it. Wheatley and GlaDos are hilarious, the puzzles are both fun to solve and not too difficult, and… That’s it. There really isn’t a lot to say about Portal 2, it sets out to do a single thing and does it brilliantly.

One thing Portal 2 (and Portal 1 too) does a lot better than all other Valve games is the characters and their quips. The story is also pretty short here when you remove all the puzzle solving and, I’ll be honest, doesn’t have a lot going for it. At least Gordon had a good reason for why he was doing what he did but why does Shell? In both games she just wakes up, gets a portal gun and… That’s it. No explanation whatsoever to how she even got here to begin with. As a MC, she’s a pretty weak one when Gordon in a similar situation is far better built and that bar is so low is to be a tripping hazard. But to me the real stars of the show are both Wheatley and GlaDos, those two just oozes charisma and their commentary through out the game are hilarious to hear. They alone make playing worth it.

The levels are pretty samey though and the environment is lackluster. You have little to no reason to explore the levels outside of trying to find places to shoot a portal, so unless you’re looking for secrets don’t bother going around the map, there’s nothing here.

As for the puzzles themselves, they’re great! Not hard enough to need a guide and not too easy as to be brain dead. Their gimmick are interesting and unique, and the solutions are easy to find.

The graphics are dated but because 99% of the time you’re inside a test chamber and even when outside of one there’s not enough light around to see any imperfection in the textures. In short, they’re cheating lol, but it does have good graphics and are pleasing to the eye more often than not.

As for the soundtrack, I feel I should start clarifying I mean the one’s that play in-game and not in the album, if there’s any. Anyway there were some I liked, “Still Alive” and both ending credits songs are amazing. There were moments where the BGM really helped deliver the scene like “Music of the Sphere” but for the most part the BGM is in the, well, background and doesn’t get in the way. Its mostly a quiet game.

Reviewing Portal 2 is kind of unfair since I’m heavily biased towards it. I love everything about it and would gladly play it several times – this is my third time though through official means its the first – and I strongly recommend it.

PS: Didn't try the multiplayer so no idea if its good.

Portal 2 expands the first in the series by continuing the story, as well as adding new elements for solving "puzzles", a more detailed plot, and a cooperative campaign. The graphics are a little dated for 2024, but it's not annoying. The English dubbing is great. There are still some problems interacting with the environment, but I think that's part of the game's physics engine. Anyway, if you like puzzle games, buy it without fear because it's no wonder it's considered one of the best video games ever made.

Man, I forgot how much of a banger this game is. Funny, atmospheric, and decently challenging, Portal 2 is yet another fantastic game from Valve that has aged gracefully.
