Since I found Ninja Gaiden 4 is only going to be on Windows, Xbox SX and PS5 I think its time to branch myself out from only Nintendo, but at what point could you justify getting a new console? I have about 10 games in mind I can finally play and another three on the way (including NG4), but it still doesn't feel right.

I think this would be a good place to vent about things we'd all dislike
First me:

You know what grinds my gears?

'True' endings

It always implies me as a fool or letting down or forgetting something at a first run and I feel absolutely unsatisfied. And if I wanted to go for it, its always in the most contrived, complex and niche goals you need to achieve in order to do another thing so as to do and another, ad nauseam. I'm just focusing on the leveling up for fighting the boss I can't handle building social connections or side quests!
Having to put myself through the whole ordeal of playing again is tiresome, and squeezing out that games appeal long enough to play again is a cheap tactic

Just give me a "you've won" ffs

As a NG fan I was shocked and so happy when I saw it especially that it'll be upgraded to modern tech

Theres some pros and cons I have of it though
Pro-
+Back to the 2D hack-n-slash format
+Looks difficult, fast paced and challenging but rewarding (as a good NG game should be)

Cons-
-You're not playing as Ryu Hayabusa
-The graphics look too similar to other pixel sidescrollers

regardless either way I'm getting this day one

Mine's 'Getting' to plan to keep a list of what games I'm wanting

I usually play on normal to get a good taste of the spectrum of how difficult it can get. But I rarely use easy if ever in recent memory

I have a unique case that's stopping me from getting into my backlog; It's hard to find the actual motivation to play
I can best describe it as knowing and wanting to play a game but unable to conjure the ability to (maybe something like lethargy or ennui)

What tips or routines do you do to get through this or get you to play?

So far I'm playing Animal Crossing to ease me back in but I want to get into my console games soon

I'm almost 30 myself so its assuring on both our ends that neither of us are too young or old to keep gaming.
My first system I consistently played was SNES back in the mid 90s; I have so many fond memories of playing games all day. My particular gem was Super Smash TV
I think most games don't have a specific age range, meaning they can be enjoyed by anyone so don't worry too much
