The Witcher 3 is probably the only video game in my memory that completely sucked me in for a good two months and didn't let go until I rolled the credits on Blood and Wine. Considering the fact I do not enjoy the fantasy genre all that much, it just shows how special The Witcher 3 is.

Visuals, although now did age, have a style to them that is just pleasant to look at; the setting is varied and exciting to explore, filled with a huge cast of characters that feel real and naturally belong to this world.

Enemy variety is extensive, and gameplay requires you to learn their weaknesses by studying them in combat at first and later reading their lore in the bestiary, making the gameplay, although with some jank to it, quite enjoyable.

Side quests, especially witcher hunts, are probably some of the most well-written missions I have played in video games. The main narrative is enticing, but at times the main events miss the landing, but considering it's an RPG with a large amount of outcomes, I never felt like it was a chore experiencing it more than a few times.

Gwent deserves an honorable mention. I skipped it completely on my first playthrough, a huge mistake; it's pretty well put together and addicting.

Geralt is easily one of my favorites from the get-go, charming, sarcastic, and, if you so choose, with a heart of gold.

The soundtrack is also iconic and enhances the experience greatly.

Easily a must-play; wish I could experience it again for the first time.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the best games ever made. It combines an amazing story, deep characters, and a huge, beautiful world into a masterpiece.

The story is the heart of this game. It’s so well-written and exciting that I couldn’t stop playing. The characters feel real, and their stories are unforgettable. Even the side quests are so good that they feel just as important as the main story. It’s hard to tell them apart, which shows how much effort the developers put into the game.

The world of The Witcher 3 is big and full of life. Every region feels different, from the forests of Velen to the snowy mountains of Skellige. Exploring these places was a lot of fun, and I was always finding something new. The music also stands out—it’s so good that I even listen to it while working.

The choices in this game are another big reason why it’s so special. Your decisions really matter and can change the story in big ways. I played the game more than once just to see how different choices would affect the world and the characters.

The combat, while not perfect, is still enjoyable. It can feel repetitive at times, but using spells adds some variety and keeps it fun. Fighting monsters and using your skills as a Witcher is satisfying, even if it’s not the game’s strongest point.

There are so many moments in the game that stay with you, but the castle fight is one I’ll never forget. It’s a perfect mix of action and emotion, and it shows just how amazing this game is.

Honestly, there’s nothing I would change about The Witcher 3. It’s a rare game that does almost everything right.

I'll give it 95% - I'm around 70 hours into this game and just started Act 2. I can't continue with several quests because my level is too low. It's just TOO MUCH GAME for me to continue to grind to increase my level so I can continue with this game. It's really too bad but there is SOOOO much content in this game. It's beautiful, the story is great, HUGE map, unlimited locations to discover, unlimited side quests, great mix of magic and weapons, great monsters - I have lost the desire to continue because I probably have like 150 more hours left and I'm kind of getting burned out. I might try to pick away at it here and there, but for now, I'm throwing in the towel. Great game though and I didn't even get to the DLC!!

UPDATE...... So after about 5 years, and several attempts to keep at this game, I finally broke through and completed it. Game says I took 100 hours, but it sure seemed like 150 or more. Gotta say, GREAT game!! The story, worlds/lands, characters, nothing bad to say about this game and definitely one of my all-time favorites. The story is what kept me going!! My ONLY gripe would be how long some of the missions seemed. I would be thinking, "oh good, this mission is complete" only to find out there was more to do. Go here to find so and so. I go there and find so and so, but they give me a quest to go here to find this person to get this item. I find that person, but they won't give me the item until I go there to defeat that monster. I go to defeat that monster but can't find them unless I go through this cave which takes forever and eventually fight them. Go back to get item for the original person and it's finally over.

I am starting the two DLC's now that I know how to play this game and what to expect. Plus, I'm just enjoying wandering around the different locations and seeing what trouble I can get into and what I can find. But I definitely recommend this game and give it 95%!!

Masterpiece of a game, probably the best game ever made. There is one section I didn't quite like because it made me uncomfortable. The item system was a bit too complex and the combat is a bit quirky. But oh man, everything else about this game is far ahead of it's competition. MUST PLAY.

This is probably a top 5 game of the decade. Wild and expansive, but chockfull of of great quality content and detail. A good main story, with many characters that are well written and complement the main character very well. For the time the graphics were amazing (and ran fine on my GTX 770!) and have aged very well, with some updates. Great cinematics and cutscenes. Fun combat mechanics that focus heavily on satisfying dodging mechanics. Great lore built into every monster, great worldbuilding and character backgrounds.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Review (100/100)

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt isn’t just a game—it’s a monumental achievement in storytelling, world-building, and player choice. CD Projekt Red’s magnum opus is a sprawling RPG that redefines what it means to create a living, breathing world. It’s an experience that grabs you by the heart, the mind, and the sword, delivering one of the most unforgettable adventures in gaming history.

The Pros:

A World That Breathes:
The Continent is an unparalleled achievement in open-world design. From the rolling fields of Velen to the majestic Skellige Isles and the bustling streets of Novigrad, every inch of the map feels alive. NPCs go about their lives, monsters lurk in the wild, and the world reacts to your actions in meaningful ways.

A Story for the Ages:
Geralt’s search for Ciri is deeply personal, yet it ties into a grand narrative of political intrigue and ancient prophecies. The writing is top-tier, filled with memorable characters, moral dilemmas, and plot twists that leave a lasting impact. The game never shies away from complex themes, weaving a narrative that’s both intimate and epic.

Masterful Side Quests:
Unlike many open-world games, The Witcher 3 makes side quests matter. These aren’t simple fetch tasks; they’re richly written stories with unique characters and surprising outcomes. The Bloody Baron questline alone is worth the price of admission, setting a new standard for what side content can achieve.

Incredible Combat and Customization:
The combat system is fluid and rewarding, allowing players to use a mix of swords, signs, bombs, and potions to adapt to any situation. The customization options—runes, armor upgrades, and skill trees—enable you to tailor Geralt to your playstyle, whether you prefer brute strength or magical prowess.

Gwent: A Game Within a Game
What started as a side activity turned into a phenomenon. Gwent is an addictive, strategic card game that provides hours of entertainment on its own. Hunting down cards and challenging NPCs adds yet another layer of depth to an already rich experience.

Stunning Visuals and Atmosphere:
The game’s visuals are breathtaking, with meticulously crafted environments, lifelike character models, and dynamic weather systems. Whether it’s a sunset over the marshes or a storm rolling across Skellige, every moment feels cinematic.

Phenomenal Voice Acting and Music:
The voice acting is pitch-perfect, from Geralt’s gravelly tones to the heartfelt performances of supporting characters. The soundtrack, a mix of haunting Slavic melodies and epic orchestral pieces, elevates every scene and battle, immersing players even further.

The Cons:

Let’s be honest—there aren’t any that detract enough to matter. Sure, the inventory system could be a bit clunky, and Roach has a tendency to get stuck in awkward places. But these are minor quibbles in a game that does so much so well.

Final Thoughts

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a masterpiece that stands as one of the greatest games ever made. It’s not just a high point for the RPG genre but for gaming as a whole. Few games offer this level of depth, emotion, and immersion. From its unforgettable characters to its stunning world, every moment spent in Geralt’s boots is a gift.

Final Verdict: 100/100. A flawless triumph in storytelling and design, setting the gold standard for open-world RPGs.

I cant describe how much i love this game, i think i fell in love with it before i could even play this project, thats how it impressed me

There is no need to say why this project is a big game changer in action RPG genre, cause a lot of games says for it, everyone was and still trying to copy the formula, but we still haven't seen something like witcher 3 (especially no one haven't made better DLC than withcher 3, yet)

Every aspect of this game is well honed, every character is well written and story hooks you (big thanks for the books of course)
This is must play game, 100% worth it!

Most overrated game I've seen only 4 hours in and there are an abundance of issues, Janky movement and horse riding, Repetitive combat you cant even lock on to bosses, Redundant or niche combat mechanics so you go back to spamming two buttons(ties into next point), Extremely dull and dragged progression skill tree literally just raises stats and does hardly anything to add to mechanics there are about 6 archetypes you could build into but none of them interesting enough to do so, Graphics look horrible on ps4 shitty foliage and lighting,Ui stylisation is generic and breaks immersion, So many fetch quests that you forget about the boring story, Most side quests and locations are a waste of time and bloat content you don't even get good rewards most of the time, Merchants are so overpriced, The maps are needlessly big and bloated there are no grand or remarkable landmarks or worldbuilding, Certain crucial materials are hard to obtain, Mc has zero drip and the clothing is awful to look at if you run for stats which is randomised, Mc has terrible voice acting it sounds forced and unnatural temu kratos, The only redeeming quality: boobs.

To me this wouldn't even qualify as an rpg. This action-adventure is only separated from others by it's 30 something endings and barely qualifies as an rpg due to it's choices, however the selling point of an rpg is it's freedom, replaying a game with no major mixup in gameplay just to experience some minor different outcome is absurd to me. I struggle to understand how this game has the review rating ratio it's gained other than goty which i shouldnt have to explain

If you like the series don't like me stop you, however if you're looking for an actual good open world rpg and/or story please just hop on elden ring, it does everything better, this game isn't even worth the discount, not an experience just something to pass time.

Just awesome, history is incredible, quest's are unique and so engaging. Side quest's is your "have to" do them. World have this vibe and u just want to walk around and admire the view when u doing your quest. I completed the game 2 times, for the first time i do much but not all side quest and of course both dlcs it takes me around 80-90-100h. But in my second run i decide to do everything in game (i was confident to do questmarks on skellige), and i do all quests include witcher contracts and armor finding in main game and all quests in both dlcs, i visited all question marks in all regions without of course questmarks on water in skellige. Awesome adventure

One of the greatest games of all time period. Has everything you want in a game, great characters, combat, visuals, and story. The only reason I can’t give this game 100% is because of how easy it is to get the bad ending. So many impactful scenes and storylines and they break the whole story down to like 4 choices which can almost all be easily misinterpreted. Besides that pretty massive blunder the game is otherwise nearly flawless.

The Witcher 3 is undeniably one of the greatest games of all time. From the moment you start playing, you're immersed in a vast, richly detailed world that’s easy to lose yourself in. The game excels in nearly every area: the combat is engaging, the level design is meticulously crafted, and the RPG mechanics provide plenty of depth. The bosses and enemies are varied and memorable, making every encounter feel fresh. And of course, Gwent is a standout mini-game, providing an enjoyable diversion from the main story.

While The Witcher 3 isn’t quite as immersive as Bloodborne in terms of gameplay, it offers an experience that’s difficult to match in scale and depth. The sheer size of the world is incredible—comparable to games like Skyrim or Grand Theft Auto V—and the characters are wonderfully detailed, each with their own rich backstory and personality.

That said, there are a couple of things I didn’t enjoy. The graphics, particularly the lighting in caves, could be better; it sometimes feels like a missed opportunity to enhance the atmosphere. Additionally, the Witcher Sense mechanic, while useful, can get repetitive after a while, especially during the tracking sequences. Another minor annoyance is the horse control, which isn’t bad but could have been more refined.

Despite these issues, The Witcher 3 still stands out as a monumental achievement in gaming, offering a fantastic narrative, deep gameplay, and one of the most detailed open worlds ever created. It’s a must-play for any RPG fan and easily one of the best games of all time.

It's about as amazing as I remember it from 2015 when I first played it. I think the combat has definitely aged a bit and the base games writing is pretty turbulent. Specifically regarding the balance of the main quest narrative and the fact that there's so much side content that just doesn't fit into the overall narrative. The open world is filled with a lot of very worthwhile quests, lore, and monster hunts but there are also a lot of menial task markers on the map that shouldn't have been marked and should've been left for players to find themselves.

The dlc are great and are actually a few steps up from the main story due to their narratives being far more cohesive. There are also wonderfully written characters added to the already very deep cast. For blood and wine specifically, there's also a brand new area to explore.

I'm kind of surprised how well the game has held up for me. Aside from the lengthy time to beat, The combat is probably going to be the biggest hurdle for most, not because it's difficult, but rather because it's not the most refined when compared to some newer games.

Finally, the mod support for the game is still very strong. There are many mods that mend the more tedious parts of the game.

I really don't understand why this game has so many positive reviews . First of all let me tell that I knew more or less what the game is about so I knew what I was getting into . I bought this game only to kill time but I paid close attetion on how good or bad this game is( that's why I played so many hours ) .Let me tell you my pros and cons :
Pros :
-Nice environment and immersive
-Cool music
-Very good variety of enemy design and I am talking about the monsters
Cons:
-Bland story
-Extremely boring main character with no good traits at all
-Repetitive missions ,for example :Detective Search and kill or find something
-The fighting animations very limited and boring
-I know this may sound dumb but the walking animation of the main character is sooooo bad that no matter how much you don't care , you WILL notice it after so many hours this game has to offer.

Thank god I purchased when it was on deal .

It is easily the best game I've ever played, and nothing came close yet. I beat 100% base game and DLCs and all of the content was extraordinary.

Gameplay
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an action role-playing game with a third-person perspective. Players control Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter known as a Witcher. He has a variety of weapons, including bombs, a crossbow and two swords (one steel and one silver). The steel sword is used primarily to kill humans while the silver sword is more effective against creatures and monsters.

Geralt has five magical signs at his disposal: Aard, Axii, Igni, Yrden and Quen. Aard prompts Geralt to unleash a telekinetic blast, Axii confuses enemies, Igni burns them, Yrden slows them down and Quen offers players a temporary, protective shield. The signs use stamina, and cannot be used indefinitely.

Players occasionally control Ciri, Geralt's adoptive daughter who can teleport short distances. The game has responsive, advanced AI and dynamic environments. The day-night cycle influences some monsters (and their powers). Players can learn about their enemies and prepare for combat by reading the in-game bestiary.

Geralt's witcher sense enables players to find objects of interest, including items that can be collected or scavenged. Players can sell items to vendors or use them to craft potions and bombs. They can visit blacksmiths to craft new weapons and armour with what they have gathered. The price of an item and the cost of crafting it depend on a region's local economy.

The game focuses on narrative, and has a dialogue wheel which allows players to choose how to respond to non-player characters. Geralt must make decisions which change the state of the world and lead to many possible endings, affecting the lives of in-game characters He can have a romantic relationship with some of the game's female characters by completing certain quests.

In addition to the main quests, books offer more information on the game's world. Players can begin side quests after visiting a town's noticeboard. These side missions include Witcher Contracts and Treasure Hunt quests, which reward players with top-tier weapons or armour. When a player earns enough experience, Geralt's level increases and the player receives ability points. These points may be used on four skill trees: combat, signs, alchemy and general. Combat upgrades enhance Geralt's attacks and unlock new fighting techniques; signs upgrades enable him to use magic more efficiently, and alchemy upgrades improve crafting abilities. General upgrades have a variety of functions, from raising Geralt's vitality to increasing crossbow damage.

The game's open world is divided into several regions. Geralt can explore each region on foot or by transportation, such as a boat. Roach, his horse, may be summoned at will. Points of interest may be found on the map, and players receive experience points after completing mini-missions in these regions. Other activities include horse racing, boxing and card playing, the card-playing mechanic was later expanded into a standalone game.

Review
This is hands down the best RPG I've ever played! Fantastic gameplay and the story... god the story is good, even without playing the first 2 Witcher's (which I haven't played) the story can be learnt just by playing through the game. It deserves all the positive reviews from top to bottom, hesitating to by this game would be foolish so take my advice and just buy this soul-gripping game, full price if needs be.

Game is an 11/10 up until the Battle at Kaer Morhen, they should have ended the story there. The story/writing takes a noticable drop in quality after that. The final mission is also super rushed. From what I understand it was due to lack of time and having to make cuts, so I won't be too harsh on CDPR, but the last couple hours in an otherwise amazing game being that bad ended the game on a sour note for me.
