Yup, even Tiamat has a blog now. I started playing some short itch.io games since I wasn't feeling like digging in my backlog of over 500 games to choose a new game to play. I ended up playing seven games in seven days and enjoyed it quite a bit so I've decided to continue. I'll try to play 30 short itch.io games during the month of September 2021 and post all my completions, thoughts and YouTube playthroughs here instead of spamming other threads. If possible, I will only play games from the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality or the Palestinian Aid Bundle which a lot of people purchased but I might add some other short games in there as well. I will also try to focus on games which are shorter than one hour.

But remember, even in the darkest of places, you can't let your hope die. It's okay to get hurt, and it's okay to fall. And, most importantly: never give up.
Comments/recommendations: This is basically just a short, autobio platformer about mental illness, public school, and hope. The author mentions that the game was done to represent their 1365 days at school with mental illness. It's a really short game (less than 10 minutes). It's cool as a school project but it's not that interesting to play. Not really recommended.

It's a cute little point-and-clicki nteractive story. It's very short (less than 10 minutes). It's cute and pretty but doesn't offer much from a gameplay perspective. I still enjoyed it though. Recommended only if you're in this sort of game and want to play something really short.

Comments/recommendations: I actually liked and recommend that one. It's really nice litte VN and I felt like the story and dialogues were easy to relate to. It takes less than 20 minutes to beat and you quickly get attached to the different characters.

Comments/recommendations: This is one of my favorite discoveries so far. This is a 3rd person action game where the main gameplay element is combat against those robots. The game made me think of playing some kind of BotW clone where I was fighting humanoid guardians with only a bow and arrows. It's an interesting concept and the game has a nice difficulty curve. The average 45 minute lenght is decent and provides an interesting gaming session.

Comments/recommendations: This game is definitely inspired by Kirby's Dream Land on the original Game Boy. It's easy but there are five coins to find throughout the game which unlocks a level and a true ending. I've only found three of them so that's an extra challenge for the completionists out there. The look of the game is average but I really liked the music. The game took me 45 minutes to beat. It was fun and I recommend it if you're into little platformers.

Synopsys: Vera is the lighthouse keeper in the little island of Tempest Rock, but a storm is raging outside and the old building isn't strong enough to face against the winds and pouring rain. Help her maintain it in tip-top shape during this dark and fateful night to keep any ships from crashing against the rocks below!
Comments/recommendations: This is a bite size game (only 5 minutes) but the concept is interesting. You basically have to take care of this lighthouse and prevent boats from crashing in the dark. So you have to make sure that the generator keeps providing power to the building, close a window to prevent water from the storm to get inside the building, make sure the headlamp keeps turning and replace the lamp when it's burned out. It's very simple and you have the keep doing it until the sun rises. This could be expanded into a bigger puzzle game but this little 5 minute experience was fine.

Yeah, I've made some very interesting discoveries so far by playing these games that have less than 10 completions on the site...
As for the 10/10 games with one completions, I've seen a few where it was the author that created an account just to add a completion. I don't know if it's common or not but I've seen a few.

Comments/recommendations: This is a nice little RPG. I was actually impressed that such a short game could include multiple endings. The whole time I was wondering what would happen. Very interesting little story. This one is recommended.

Comments/recommendations: In some ways, this game reminded me of Gone Home. It's the same tyoe of 1st person exploration game where you explore and check out items and objetcs which gives you more information about the person who owned them and what happened. The more you find objects the more you understand the story. I haven't played Life is Strange, but some people who did also mention that Marie's Room has some of the same vibes as LiS. Highly recommended.
