Oh, nice! I love the Yakuza series. A friend got me into it, then I became way more obsessed than even them.

I've only played 0, Kiwami 1 and 2. And personally thought Kiwami 1 was better. But the world in Kiwami 2 was a lot more... lively for lack of a better term.

But theres one absolute- Goro Majima is king.

I beat so far Yakuza 0, kiwami 1, ... 4, 5 and 6! Gotta fill in those blanks.

I liked that in 6 you only have to play mahjong once for the platinum trophy.

I'll pick Zombi cuz it's cool and scary.

Just retired Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. While the gameplay is as good as always with some improvements to the skill tree and class balancing, the story is a missed opportunity due to bad pacing and poor direction while the available content is not up to snuff with other games of the franchise. The bosses were either over in 10 seconds or were utter bullshit, mix that in with a terrible late-game difficulty curve and the game is just no longer fun to play by the end. Also, glitches, lots of glitches.

I liked that game, but the lack of sunshine gave me S.A.D. haha

I think it's a great tool that can help you see game content that you wouldn't be able to otherwise. Even if it's just saving you some time so that you can get to more games!!

I try to use it less now, largely because of https://www.retroachievements.org. The way their scoring system works, is you basically earn double points for earning achievements without tools like quickload, slow-down, and rewind. This encourages me to at least try without quicksaves for a while before I decide something isn't worth the effort.

Some people might hate on you for using them, but your enjoyment is most important :)

Had to retire DJ Hero 2 for now. I made the silly mistake of buying it on sale... without the turntable! I thought I could beat it with just the microphone, but you can't even play the campaign without a turntable. OOPS. The clerk at Best Buy tried to warn me, and I didn't listen lol

Sniper Elite 4 for me too!

I played on Authentic first, then again on casual for the collectibles. Today I suffered thru the Co-Op Overwatch missions. They are painful because if your partner leaves, it's over.

I still need multiplayer and random other stuff for platinum :)

Conan Exiles is a game where you build and survive. There's a ton of objectives to complete in a journal that you start with, but no laid-out campaign to speak of.

I considered this game complete because I earned every trophy, but that can be done without completing 99% of the objectives in the journal. That's because there's a built-in cheat menu that can spawn rare bosses and then kill them instantly for you. You can earn every trophy in under 2 hours even though completing the objectives in the journal and experiencing the game as intended takes much much longer (70+ hours?).

After playing this game, I've started to find other games where you can earn every trophy without completing the main story campaign. Teslagrad is one example where you can earn 100% achievements without fighting the last boss or seeing the ending.

So I'm just thinking I didn't really beat Conan Exiles even though I earned every achievement. I'm probably going to delete my 17 hour time submission because it's misleading, although maybe it's a useful data point for trophy hunters? Maybe a new time entry category for Trophy/Achievement Hunters? (That's probably going too far XD)

LOST ODYSSEY

I didn't buy a 360 for years because of a lack of exclusives I wanted, but when I did that game was 60% of my reasons for a purchase. I was not disappointed, it's phenomenal. Discs are hard to come by but the download version is cheap, so make that your #1 priority.

I was gonna say this! and I think Lost Odyssey is FREE now on the xbox store. Maybe because of the faulty discs problem (the 4th disc is notorious. My game crashed many times on disc 4)

I just finished Bound by Flame. It's great, except for the most important thing... the combat. It's totally broken. It's like they didn't playtest it. Heavy weapons barely do any damage. Daggers are much stronger than swords/axes/hammers.

You have no invulnerability when you take a hit, so if you get hit by 2 or 3 enemies at once it's game over. Fights drag on and on because you can only hit enemies once or twice before you have to dodge, and enemies have tons of health. You might find yourself standing around after a fight to regenerate all the health you lost, questioning your life choices that brought you to this point.

But I love action RPGs, and I enjoyed it thoroughly XD

I finished Dauntless, Kingdom Hearts 3, Borderlands 2 and DLC, Borderlands Pre-Sequel and DLC.

The worst was easily KH3. I hope I don't play anything so boring again this year. It's the kind of game that makes you regret your life choices, when "Let it Go" starts playing full blast and you just want to kill things.

Dauntless was good, but the weapons don't seem balanced at all. My chainblades felt obsolete by mid-game, but I stuck with them and got carried by Revolver and Axe players.

Borderlands 2 was amazing except for some cringe language. Saying the b-word after everything doesn't make it funny or edgy. I think they learned their lesson for the Pre-Sequel which was also great but will give you seasonal affective disorder from lack of sunlight in areas (it's all in space).

Another trick to speed up older games is to play them using an emulator. For example SNES or GBA RPGs can be done in about a quarter of the time when playing at 4x speed.
It's quite addicting actually lol. Really plows through all the tedium of old school RPG grinding and allows you to experience the content/story quickly.

This is the best advice. You can remap your controls and use any controller you like, or keyboard if it's more comfortable.

It seems like every day now we learn about a game or online mode that's going away forever!!! OH NO!!

Post the games here that are losing their online servers to raise awareness. For trophy hunters, this is your last chance to earn those online achievements.

PS3 versions of Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, and The Last of Us are losing online support in September. (Luckily there are remastered versions unaffected by this)

I want to say EverQuest because when I was super into it, several of my friends picked it up just based on my hype and never got further than level 10. One friend got a brand-new Gold edition with every expansion, played for literally 20 minutes and never logged in again.

It's very outdated today and hard to play when there's WoW and FFXIV. Yes it was garbage all along. Garbage with amazing progression!!!!

Trying to finish Kingdom Hearts III. It's very boring to me. The cutscene to gameplay ratio is way off.
